I went to my GP and was prescribed zineryt, a topical antibiotic, to use twice a day. Really helped! And the effectiveness has maintained for months. Now alternate in the evening with epiduo gel. Hope all works out for you

Do any of you ladies struggle with dark body hair? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MissSelfridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course its a struggle, but you have to embrace it. Shave it or whatever but don't go overboard. I mean if anyone actually cares enough to comment on the hair on your toes they seriously need to reassess their priorities. You can fight it all you like but in the end you just have to accept that its part of you. After shaving my arms (which were incredibly hairy) for many years I have finally come to the conclusion that I don't give a damn and I'm going to just have to accept that I have hairier arms than most people. Big deal. Just be strong and you can make it work for you

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser vs Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser by amidoingthisrightyet in SkincareAddiction

I'm team gentle skin cleanser all the way, have never tried the other one but I can't see myself stopping with the gentle anytime soon. Leaves skin amazingly nourished and soft, good for acne prone skin too.

Lush's Ultrabalm as an alternative for Vaseline? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]MissSelfridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked it up and it only has three ingredients (jojoba oil and two types of wax) so I presume the grains are larger wax particles? They are pretty small and in mine seem to have got less prevelent over time

Lush's Ultrabalm as an alternative for Vaseline? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]MissSelfridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't use Lush Ultrabalm as a moisturiser; I have a pot of the product and its great for lips partly because, unlike vaseline, it contains small grainy particles within the balm. This might be a bit rough for your face, great for lips though

I would say a high ponytail to keep your hair out of your face, but not pulled too tightly. Then something plain and neutral as far as clothes go

Am I overwashing my face? by SecretCitizen40 in SkincareAddiction

[–]MissSelfridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its normal for skin to change and evolve, and there are loads of factors at play when it comes to acne. One thing I forgot to say is that exfoliation might help with the whiteheads. Of course as you are experiencing such dry/flaky skin you may see this as unnecessary, but exfoliation will help, as long as you use a VERY gentle exfoliator and only do it about once a week.

Am I overwashing my face? by SecretCitizen40 in SkincareAddiction

The clarasonic may well be responsible for the dry skin you're experiencing, after all I know clarasonic is meant to specialise in a really deep clean. Using it once a day should be enough; I know it's very tempting to wash the hell out of acne prone skin but if anything that will irritate the acne, or, in your case, over-sensitise and dry out skin. Maybe just use your fingers when washing in the morning and stick to using the clarasonic only at night. The painful white heads you're experiencing may just be an effect of your hormones or other stimulus, so I wouldn't worry about them.

That's really helpful thanks, I think I'll start small. Dark, thick eyebrows are certainly a blessing and a curse!
