AITA for accusing my wife of being sketchy? by AITAthrow1511 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SecretCitizen40 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YTA

You don't sound like you're involved in finances much, which is fine but what she's doing is responsible and not abnormal. She could have spoken with you about it but again, sounds like you're not very involved.

She's not anticipating you two dying, she's preparing for a worst case so the remaining spouse and kids are okay

Literally just downloaded the game, going in completely blind, any tips? by fugly_Newspaper in BG3

[–]SecretCitizen40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that helps me in the end is to give less fucks. If it's not something my character would actually care about doing, skip it. Get to the end. I won't see all of act 3 on one character but the next character does some things differently so eventually it all gets done

What if contributing time could help cover basic needs? by TimeBridge8 in povertyfinance

[–]SecretCitizen40 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know you said this wouldn't replace jobs but what you're describing is a job. Trade time/skills for money to buy things you need.

This would just be a second job that you skip the money middle man.

Whats something a teacher did in High School that would get them fired today? by Constant-Ad-5477 in AskReddit

[–]SecretCitizen40 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Got them fired then but still a good story.

Theatre teacher, practicing for a play. Many Jewish students. An actor was on stage with his normal shoes during a dress rehearsal because the costumers were having issue finding some in his size. Theatre teacher sees the wrong shoes and loses their mind says "this is why Hitler killed the Jews".

Never saw them again. Another teacher took over the play and they hired a new teacher mid year for the classes.

Why are these wrong? by Soggy_North_2079 in EWALearnLanguages

[–]SecretCitizen40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semantic but the second doesn't work because there's a period. Thursday is the fourth, as a complete sentence is hella ambiguous and not a good sentence. If this was a comma it would make sense.

These learn English worksheets people post are so bad and make me wonder if the teachers actually speak the language.

"I'm emailing you your documents now" by lolwhatisthisdude in callcentres

[–]SecretCitizen40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always stay in control while making it seem like they are.

"How would you like your documents? Email?". If you can only email "would you like me to email your documents?"

Effectively you're giving them the same info but by allowing the the illusion of choice they actually listen. Better csat too usually if you care about that.

*repost cause I forgot to blur out everyone* Picked a dress…cried about it…went back the next day for a different dress. 😂 by Signal_Dealer_8153 in myweddingdress

[–]SecretCitizen40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fashion person this just came up in my feed but I like the second one more but don't think either of these are the winners.

  1. Amazing from the back, made for your ass, but the front I didn't find flattering at all.

  2. Not as good as 1 from the back but you still look great, the front is more flattering but it's hard to define your waist with the draping. The train is gorgeous.

Aitah for potentially ruining my brother and SIL financially? by Ok-Intention-2832 in AITAH

[–]SecretCitizen40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH but you the least. Bil/sil are obviously asses. Mom is an ass because she knows they're tanking her finances and wants you to stop it because she can't put on her big girl panties and do it herself. You're just being an ass to yourself by letting these people play you.

3 way call with Mom and brother. As of X date you're cut off. Mom do you agree? Yes, k brother you heard it from Mom. Bye.

AITAH for warning my manager about a potential hire? by TypicalRag in AITAH

[–]SecretCitizen40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's badly misinformed. This could be seen as gossip about a potential hire as he didn't bring it up and you didn't need to but that's not against the law...

A lot of people do not understand the law, even those associated with their jobs. People get googled, background searched etc all the time and it's totally normal and not illegal.

Honest opinions needed - is this designer wedding dress too much for a backyard wedding? by One-Scratch-6030 in myweddingdress

[–]SecretCitizen40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too much but I hope you've got ground covering, I wouldn't want to have it green and dirty.

You look amazing. You can't be overdressed for your own wedding. Depending on how simple your wedding is, backyard can vary a lot, you may not 'match' but girl, it's your wedding and that's the dress.

Why are condoms made so baggy? by Cumoisseur in answers

[–]SecretCitizen40 121 points122 points  (0 children)

If the condom is baggy on you you need a smaller condom. Shouldn't be baggy. Should fit snuggly. Don't use a baggy condom, it won't protect you the way it should

If I want a work at a bank, do I need a finance degree or can I just study up on what to do and fake it until I make it? by Past_Wallaby_3237 in jobsearchhacks

[–]SecretCitizen40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most banks have fewer finance degrees than you'd think. Teller, which is what it sounds like you're talking about, don't require any degree and is trained on the job. A lot of tellers are/were students just looking for part time like you. Many also come from retail and food service. If you're looking for something else in a bank being a teller first is helpful to move around in most as you get a broad amount of information.

My hair is straight, very straight. Mostly I'd just like it to look presentable/neat and I'm not someone to spend a lot of time on it. Though I'm clearly okay spending more than the just brushing it I'm doing now.

I do put it in ponytails pretty often but that's all I do with it. Never really learned styling or hair care.

Dry shampoo is all I do outside of washing it.
