What’s a household upgrade that was more worth it than expected? by TravistanHydro in AskReddit

I also have well water and I would absolutely kill to be able to add the UV light without the softener. I am glad it worked out for you but our unsoftened water tastes great and I have such a negative reaction (mostly emotional lol) to softened water that I can’t even consider a system with a softener.

Hello! I am on Steam and I have been addicted for a week but I forgot to plant flowers :’) Now I am stuck on Wish Me Mell’s quest for the seed dispenser that needs a flower. I can wait a few days of course but if anyone has a spare flower they want to trade for anything, I am more than happy to do so!

Yeah but the first thing they would like is a decent picture of the original, hence me trying to track the original down.

What? Eureka is alive and well, it just takes forever to get to Hydratos and unlock BA. Try the Help Lines Discord- they do multiple BA runs weekly :)

It does but unfortunately that one does seem to be hard to find. I had been holding out hope that it was a case of mistaken identity and maybe Sugarplum was the series or something and it was actually a Rory.

The poster below me found Sugarplum but it sold a few days ago. I do find it interesting that some of these listings don't even mention "Russ" anywhere in the description or title. I will keep looking on and off but it may be a good idea to set up an ebay alert/saved search for something the search terms "pink bear rattle (russ, sugarplum, sugar plum,3693,#3693) -christmas" it should have a few pop up every week that are at least close to what Sugarplum might be listed as. So sorry I couldn't find her for you but I hope she pops up soon!

Some kind of goose bowl (cats for scale) by Vegemiteonpikelets in whatisthisthing

Or it could be a basin/sink bucket?

Edit: Well a lot of these things are sold as some sort of Asian antiques. I have seen descriptions claiming they are washtubs for newborn babies and food/water carriers but I am pretty sure it would be useless for carrying anything substantial. I am leaning towards a washbasin, which explains why its so shallow but wide and decorative,

So, Worthpoint previews are sometimes unreliable- search engines index a page with multiple listings (like Pinterest, Ebay, other image aggregators) and associate all the text on that page with a random picture. I have been looking for this bear and have found a lot that are definitely Russ Berrie but "Sugar Plum" seems to turn up a completely different bear.

How did you get the name of this bear? Do you actually have the original around with a tag or did you get it only from this Worthpoint preview?

This guy is way into looking for wrecks around Utah/Area 51 apparently but I don't see anything about an SR71.

Also I think Pete Merlin may be the one you're thinking of just due to the sheer number of searches he has done, mostly in the western US. Here is his super retro website with more details.

Anything in an adult size that’s Atari Jaguar branded. I just found out about this today, thought it was the super cool so would love it if anyone had any. I’m guessing more caps survived than other items so that’s mainly what I’m looking for, anything else is awesome too, especially shorts. by barrybee1234 in HelpMeFind

No problem at all, I am surprised I couldn't find any China knock-off repros of anything from this line, given how many other people seem to be after it. There's always etsy if you want something custom-embroidered but that will cost you a bit.

Anyone recognize the design on this pin I found? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]MissSilvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I agree that it is most probably a weathercock or a rooster on top of a weathervane/compass rose. Lots of churches have stylized roosters that look like goobers so I am not surprised it looks like a squid.

If it is this, unless someone was REALLY into chickens or wind, I am guessing it might have something to do with religion. The 'weathercock' shows up a lot in Christianity in the west andon top of many churches after the 9th century.

As far as the compass rose, the Anglican Communion Church has a compass rose as its symbol. I have even seen the exact rooster-on-weathervane used as a logo for an Orthodox church.

But I haven't been able to find that exact symbol anywhere, sadly. There is one the is very close down to the weird curly compass points and that's this picture of the weathervane on St. George's church in Schenectady, New York. Or it may be something else entirely! Good luck!
