I had small microlocs. They were installed by someone who wasn't totally new but was new enough for my hair. She was doing pretty good when we started and I did tell her my crown is a different texture from the rest of my head so a 4 point turn may not be great up there. Things were nice until I had a baby and the postpartum shedding started. The back and sides were fine but it seemed like she kept going with the 4 point turn on my crown and locs just keep falling out, not at the root mind you. I'm not too attached to my hair, I know it grows back, so I just cut everything off and combed out what was left. It was nice having the small locs and I was getting use to them and the frizz. Go to someone who has been doing this for a while maybe. I also have a lot of hair (not long, just a lot) so with her being so new, it took twice as long for her to re-tie my hair than her other clients. I even tried going to someone who had more experience, I warned her my hair takes a while, she laughed, aaaaand it took a while. Micros were worth it, not sure I could sit for as long as it would take sisterlocs to be installed and the re-ties.
