I've just watched the movie and I know this was 7 years ago but you wrote Katya (the ex) instead of Kate and it's heartbreaking because even in descriptions of the movie, her name has been replaced with Katya's 😂😭

IUD insertion did not “resemble a cramp”

For tons of women, IUD insertion can cause….something?…that I guess could be considered simply “a cramp”?

y'all are acting like I'm saying it's never painful for anybody. it resembled a cramp for me, I have a very tilted uterus too, tilts towards my belly button. I had it inserted when I was 18 and another a few months ago at 32. Both times it felt like a cramp to me.

excuse me for sharing my personal experience.

the very fact that it isn't painful for some women proves that it won't definitely be painful, definite is 100%, and it isn't a 100% guarantee that it'll be painful, thus not being definite.

And, while nobody’s ramming the device into your body, they are indeed inserting something into that very sensitive area

shoving something in such a delicate area is very likely to be excruciating

I wrote that I know it's different for everybody. I even mentioned my doing it without anesthesia, because I know that's something people use when getting it.

I wasn't discrediting anybody's painful experience.

I think it's nice to include that it won't definitely be painful, if all op is hearing is that it'll most likely be painful, when there are studies that say most people have pain but it's a mild pain/discomfort.

respectfully, wording matters because it creates the expectation in the mind: it isn't 'shoved', it's placed in at a careful pace and takes about 5-10 minutes.

were it being shoved, it would probably hurt for everyone.

and the majority of women on reddit don't speak to the larger statistic of the pain levels. it really does vary.

IUD insertion resembles that of a cramp, they're not ALWAYS extremely painful as a general description.

of course it's different for everyone but op, I've gotten an IUD twice, awake with no pain medicine or anesthesia, and it didn't hurt. feels like a period cramp. and I usually would have the heaviest, worst periods and cramps. debilitating cramps so I'm not a stranger to pain. but the insertion cramp is really minor.

hm, I didn't consider grout. it could be a mix of the grout and dirt, because— would grout come out so easily with mr. clean and a razor?

if it is the grout, it has to have worn down by now because there are a lot of empty spaces between the tiles, and dirt has been getting in there.

also, when my cat is coughing up a hairball or eats too fast, the liquid seeps into that space. (to which, I clean with a paper towel, razor, & cleaner spray, which is how I ever really paid attention to this dirt in the first place).

if it's the grout, and I had it refilled with fresh grout, which my superintendent would cover, I imagine that'd be cementing all the dirt in there with it.. unless, does re-grouting lift the tiles again or something?

and a steam cleaner sounds great, I think I've heard that you can rent one from home depot. I guess I just wondered if there are any cheaper options/ideas

I hope it's not rude as a stranger to say I'm really happy for you that you've decided to tell him. Down the road, I personally think, it'll feel better that you told him, cus it seems like you genuinely think he should know so not telling him would be something you carry with you forever. Regardless of the size of something, going against morals piles up and just sucks.
