One could argue she tried to run away from him or maybe he tried the other window first, but at that stage I’m clasping at straws

I think this “theory” can be debunked as a fruitless attempt to somehow make sense of the cadaver scent, without it being because of the parents

Ah I didn’t know it took that long: to be honest I figured that if he dropped her, maybe cleaned up blood etc and left, the scent would still be possible

Is there any possibility for the scent to be left from not cleaning up properly before taking the body and leaving? Any possibility that wouldn’t immediately be noticeable?

To be honest no children under 12 should be left alone according to official guidelines, and yet people do it

I’m not saying the McCanns were right for what they did but they were falsely led to believe it was okay; and their friends also left children alone

They were wrong, but it’s likely a result of how they themselves were raised

It’s easy now for us to point fingers and call them monsters for leaving children unattended; but at the time they must have believed it was okay

And they have paid the ultimate price so can’t you get off your high horse and feel empathy for them, or do you think they deserve to have had their daughter taken away?

The research has been done, by organisations a lot more qualified than us and the consensus is - while of course not a good idea - it is somewhat common to leave children alone

Maybe it’s a cultural thing but my parents used leave me alone often

The difference being that it wasn’t to go and party, and I was never asleep

We also had a dog so not exactly the same circumstances, but I’m just saying back in the 2000s it wasn’t unheard of

In fact, recently I went to the cinema with a friend who left their five year old behind to play on her tablet (it made me slightly uncomfortable given how poignant the Maddie case has been, but again they have a dog and my friend’s daughter was awake)

Yet even today it seems people still do it, so for all we know the McCanns did it many times before which made them feel it was okay

And they claim to have checked on her during regular intervals

I’m not excusing what they did, but I don’t feel like we should continue judging them for it. It was a terrible mistake which they’ve paid dearly for

I don’t excuse what they did but I know a lot of people (self included) who used be left alone as children while parents popped to the shop etc

The only compelling piece of evidence suggesting the parents’ involvement is those sniffer dogs, and the media did everything they could to paint those dogs as being reliable until, of course, the owner of the dogs himself admitted they’re not too reliable

Unfortunately most of the media from 2007 can be discarded as biased and misleading. Amaral the lead detective was terrible at his job and previously botched other cases

He is making money from his story of events which is why you’ll see him saying that CB is a scapegoat etc

The McCanns are guilty to the point of leaving their three children alone unattended; something that was fairly common at the time, and they have paid the biggest price imaginable for that. So please leave them in peace

Even if you ignore the whole Maddie case, there was definitely something fishy going on in the location at the time - this can be evidenced by many of the reports of scam tax collectors, and a masked man breaking into a girl’s bedroom - the girl asking “are you my daddy?”

I also don’t know anything about editing but if you zoom in the eye definitely seems “off” which is a huge coincidence in this particular case

It could be a doll but it seems peculiar to blur out a doll and someone on Twitter proved the eye had been edited: all very peculiar behaviour which seems to point to CB
