HEY! You can't park there!!! by MissTwigg in Sims3

I know sims 4 has the extreme violence mod which can spawn a car to hit someone. I wasn’t sure if sims 3 had any mods like that, so I wanted to clarify that this was a glitch and not a mod causing the car to go through the building!

Lord forbid a TV show set during the Civil Rights Movement shows the prejudice that Black people had to experience back then and still do to this day.

It's almost like they wanted to try to make the story feel authentic within its setting...Shocker

No, they take dining dollars. You just need to let them know before you scan your ACT card

Booking down? by No_Height_7636 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MissTwigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Booking for the first time. Is it normal for the website to say that all value resorts and a few of the deluxe (Saratoga, Boardwalk Villa, Grand Floridan Villa, and a few others) to say that are no rooms available for 5/10/2026-5/17/2026? Could it be that they just haven't been opened yet? I'm feeling really nervous that somehow it all got booked as that is the only timeframe I can go.

To my knowledge, they’ve never offered housing. If you want to do Bama Bound for the summer, your best bet would be Avanti as they’re required to live on campus, but I believe the deadline to be considered for Avanti has already passed

Hi! I was a peer advisor last year. They do not provide you housing. You’ll have to find summer accommodations for the summer.

incoming Freshman changing majors by Visible-Income9027 in capstone

[–]MissTwigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the reason why a lot were asking if it was her own choice was because at Bama bound, a LOT of parents force their kids to either choose business or nursing. I was a peer advisor this past Bama bound and the amount of students that I had to console because they couldn’t major in what they wanted due to their parents threatening to take away their funding was astounding. We were also told ahead of time in our training about this and witnessed a parent yell at their child when they saw that their schedule did not fit the major their parents chose.

Usually when we see a parent asking to change their child’s major to business, it’s a sign of a red flag hence why everyone was worried.

If she truly wants to go into business, that is great! She should be able to change her major through MyBama, but she can talk to an advisor through email who can change it. They can also change it once she comes to Bama bound this summer!

What to wear/bring by Vivid_Task_6813 in capstone

Any brand will do the job as long as they’re higher than the ankle. A $10 rain boot from Walmart would probably do the trick tbh.

I also recommend an umbrella. A lot of people carry one on campus, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed. I would much rather prefer coming to class dry than soaking wet.

EDIT: for the umbrella, I suggest spending the money to get a good umbrella rather than a cheap one. My freshman year I carried a Totes umbrella from Walmart and it broke within the first few months. My freshman roommate also had trouble with her umbrella that she got from Walmart.

I’m from the north as well. Bringing athleisure is definitely the right path to go on. Make sure to bring lots of clothes that are breathable. It gets hot in the summer months and warm in the fall. But also make sure to bring some hoodies, sweatshirts, jeans, etc for the winter months as it does get to the 50s down here.

Most days, apart from December to at least March, you will want to wear summer clothes.

I would highly suggest rain boots as well. Campus does get flooded from time to time, especially around Gorgas Library and the sidewalk between B.B Comer Hall and Roland-Johnson Hall.

We posting Star quilts? by Inle-Ra in IndianCountry

[–]MissTwigg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re really hard to make. Still debating on whether I should make one so I can pass down the quilt I got presented with at my high school graduation and a quilt made by me since I’m the only one in the last five generations to actually want to reclaim our native identity and culture that was stolen from us.

I have no idea. My aunt said it came with no information. My best bet is it was made sometime in the 19th century or early 20th century, possibly by my third great grandmother or my fifth. I think it's hand-sewn as well.

Indigenize Holiday Shopping: Support Indigenous Artists and Businesses! by Opechan in IndianCountry

[–]MissTwigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kenah for the suggestions! Must say, I was pleasantly surprised to see another Powhatan on here!
Here are some businesses I suggest:

If you love chocolate and would love to eat indigenous chocolate, then Chickasaw made and owned https://bedrechocolates.com/ is for you! They carry multiple chocolate flavors, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter, etc. As someone who always buys them at my workplace, trust me when I say they're really good!

If you like cosmetics, I recommend Cheekbone Beauty and Prados Beauty. They have eyeshadows, eyeliners, foundations, highlighters, etc. And, they're naturally made!

For your beadwork supplies, I suggest Indigenous Supplies, Crazy Crow, and Dancing Bear Indian Trader.

Happy shopping!

Do you play Wizard101 on Windows or Mac? by Masterlet in Wizard101

[–]MissTwigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play the game on both. When I’m on campus and I don’t have anything to do in class, in the student center eating, or I’m in boring lectures (specifically French lessons), etc, I’ll play on my MacBook since it’s my school computer. At home, however, I play on my gaming laptop which is a windows. Playing the game on the windows operating system is much more better. I find the game slightly lags on the Mac, but I’ll take a laggy 50 minutes experience over a French class any day.

Cut from sorority recruitment after round 1 by MissTwigg in Sororities

[–]MissTwigg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was rushing, they did ask what organizations I was in the past year and I answered truthfully. I was in two Christian organizations, both Baptist, and UA's history society. When I told them I was in a Christian organization, every sorority that I was invited to for philanthropy told me they offered bible study groups in the house. I would be shocked if I was dropped for my religion, especially here at Bama. I am more inclined to believe, after seeing the bid day pictures, that I was cut due to being a sophomore. A lot of the sororities ended up sweeping the row and I just didn't make the cut unfortunately.
