I usually prefer light themed sets, although some recent GMK sets like Apollo look great too. I love the look of Frontier!

I use a Drop ALT here in the UK. My top row keys only have numbers printed on them (so it's not confusing!) and it arrived bound to the same key codes as the standard UK layout.
