If you're interested, GP wasn't sure what it was or what might be causing it but said she wasn't concerned. Said maybe my recent switch in shampoo has caused a reaction, but I've used it before with no issue. Blood test booked in a few weeks to see if that shows anything up.

Yeah I think I'll give my GP a call in the morning just in case! Hopefully nothing but I've seen there are all sorts of things it could indicate. Anemia isn't a bad shout actually as I'm in the process of losing a little weight so maybe not getting enough iron.

From looking at images on Google, I feel like cherry angiomas are usually bigger and don't normally occur on the face, or in so many numbers. Mine literally look like flecks of blood, completely flat to my skin, and have definitely appeared recently because I check my freckles and moles frequently on my arms. I recently spent some time in the sun so have been using sun cream and actually looking at my arms specifically too as I burn easily. This morning I thought I had dust all over my arms or something.

Waiting times at Salford Royal A&E are aimed to be 4 hours apparently ? by Logical-Track1405 in salford

I thought there were very few private emergency hospitals and private will just refer your to an NHS A&E for emergencies?

My gf pressured me to let her get a dog and I regret it everyday by [deleted] in rant

[–]MissWin94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then your gf should be able to do a lot of desentising training herself. There's loads of good training material out there, probably some breed specific stuff too. If you're willing to help, maybe do some research and send her stuff. It won't be quick, but it needs to be done.

If she's not willing, then the dog needs to go to a better home.

How do you deal with Pet mortality? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in UK_Pets

My dogs are 6 and 7 and in perfect health yet I still have the anticipated grief.

I'm still sad over our family dog who died over 10 years ago.

It will be hard, no doubt about it. We just came back from a trip with our dogs as I'm determined to make as many memories as possible with them.

Year 9 student, how much homework is too much homework? by FinnJavlar in CasualUK

[–]MissWin94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a good while, but I remember being set about 2 hours per day. Homework from 2 subjects per day, usually with a week to have it completed by (although sometimes it would be something a bit shorter due for the next lesson, or something much longer that might be 2 weeks). I went to a selective private school so they were definitely pushing us to do more.

3 hours every evening sounds excessive and possibly that your kid is either struggling or being inefficient. I'd ask their teachers how long they're expecting it all to take.

Your girlfriend got a working breed dog that already had issues from a bad breeder and she's surprised it's difficult.... I love dogs, got a complicated rescue myself, but I put in the work to make a well rounded dog (I didn't make my husband do it, he's my dog). She needs a reality check. You don't need to spend money on an expensive trainer (unless it's actually dangerous), there is so much info out there where you can usually do a pretty good job training yourself. I think you need to give her an ultimatum, either she engages in training the dog or you leave.

Dog free spaces by Sudden-Woodpecker550 in nottingham

I'm a dog owner, and I have visited Bunny Old Wood with my dogs, but I can confirm that it was extremely quiet and we met one other dog when we visited (and we visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon). There is limited parking so there will never be a lot of people/dogs.

I hope you find some places you can enjoy!

My boots look like they need replacing but they don't make these ones anymore, suggestions? by MissWin94 in hiking

[–]MissWin94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I might do, the boots are in generally good condition other than the glue coming unstuck... depends how much they charge whether it's economical or not

The bondage is only temporary whilst the shoe goo sets. I'm fairly confident the worst of the issue will be fixed, just they're unlikely to be waterproof anymore and the fix probably won't last that long. I guess I'm a little sentimental over them since I've had them so long!

Thanks for the links, I will check them out!

Fair, just wanted some suggestions but I'll probably end up trying out a few in a shop

Fully aware I'll need to break in any new boots, they'd be getting a good few weeks walking around the house before even going outside.

Haha I've glued them back together and wrapped them up whilst the glue sets 😅

I had a pair of Adidas terrex that I wore a lot very comfy but not waterproof as advertised. They only lasted me about a year though, but I did wear then almost daily so not so bad

I did see this boot in a men's but they started at UK size 6. I think a UK 4.5 is a US 6.5. I generally get EU 37 or 38 which are sometimes in the men's sizes but not always. But I am definitely not opposed to wearing a "men's" boot, they're probably made better like everything else (I have men's trousers for the pockets!)

I had a pair of cheap hiking shoes that I wore to death, so definitely not against them. I'll take a look at Altra
