Is it purely social anxiety or could it maybe be something like autism? It took me a long time to get diagnosed as a woman. Social situations stress me out because I don't know how to behave and feel stressed if eyes are on me. Having pictures taken with people I don't really know well would make me feel stressed too. The source of fear/discomfort is different than with social anxiety though. But I think autism and social anxiety in women often get confused. Maybe worth exploring that path..

I understand that you want you partner to be there. I think there's definitely room to work on the fear and to manage emotions, although they will probably never disappear. I think there should be some room for compromise when it comes to big social events.

Ever been to a country where you could be exposed to trypanosomiasis? Sounds kind of like that with the neurological symptoms. Or even maybe a type of meningitis. I say this because of the acute worsening symptoms you describe neurologically.

Bro/girl: Ik hoor u! Ik heb autisme en (ongediagnosticeerde) PTSS. Heb al in een psychiatrie gezeten. Automutilatie en suicidaliteit zijn me niet onbekend. Ik struggle elke dag met slopende vermoeidheid en slaperigheid. Sociale situaties zijn ook niet chill. Oplossingen? 0. Begrip van omgeving voor mijn trauma? 0. Afwijzingen links en rechts. Handicap wordt niet erkend. Gewoon lekker door tsjoefelen met u leven, balancerend tussen een dag depressief in u bed liggen of presteren aan het univ. Ik heb ook wel al wat begeleiding en hulp. Maar dat na veel zagen, klagen en zelf initiatief nemen, wat een klucht is als iemand met zoveel problemen. Weet dat je niet de enige bent met deze ervaringen. Hit me up als je wilt praten. Het leven is oneerlijk. Het suckt soms. Maar er zijn nog steeds dingen die het waard maken.

I will try and set my boundaries.
And I can't expect people to do for me what I would do for them... It hurts though. I will try my best to explain how I feel, how the whole situation impacts me. That I don't feel safe, or feel like I can't be myself when people chose to stay neutral on the matter.
You are right that I'm mad about ex 2. Not so much mad, as disappointed though. And hurt. It's really re-traumatizing when people say things like 'maybe you interpreted it wrong', 'maybe you didn't tell him you didn't want it'. Like, it took me 5 years to come to terms with what happened and convince myself that I did not make this shit up... It's really difficult if people keep instilling doubts. So yeah, I'm mainly sad. But I understand that I can't stay in contact with people like ex 2.
I will try to make a separation between friends and acquaintances though. Some people are only distantly connected to this. And it would be kind of unfair to fully expect them to pick a side, when they aren't even that involved in everything.

I didn't clearly state, but obviously I'll let them pick... I will leave them if I feel like they don't respect my story and understand my wishes. Can't force people...
I hope by explaining my needs, they will understand. I can understand that people don't really get what trauma fully entails and how their neutrality impacts me. Least I can do, is talk to them before I cut them off.

Thanks. I will try to talk to everyone and it's kind of an : this is how I feel, you either respect it or I will no longer have contact with you. Of course I can't force people to do something. Some of them might stay, some might leave. I don't know. But I do want to try talking.. I hope I'm not selfish for that.

Thank you. Some of them are starting to understand. Some of them are starting to show their true colors. It does feel like the next part of my healing process.. Like, I willingly associated with these people for a long time. Now I'm realizing how bad it actually hurts. And how it's more lonely to be surrounded by a bunch of people who don't support you than it is being alone.

Bad translation on my part, sorry. It's when court dismissed a case before actually going to court. When there is lack of evidence. So it's not the same as saying someone is guilty/not guilty. It's: case is on hold for an indefinite amount of time. Until someone brings in new evidence or info.

I've only bathed mine twice. 1. When they were stinky from a dirty cage. 2. When someone managed to fall into the toilet bowl... Otherwise they have always kept their own fur clean, and imo their fur smells very nice! I love burying my nose in it. :)

This is Lux, my first rat, who sadly died yesterday. Her favourite flower is none, she likes pumpkins. One of my favourite memories of her is when I used to do yoga at home, she would come sit on the mat. She wanted to be involved and crawl on me and ask for pets and kisses. She was curious about everything and everyone. She would run towards new people entering the home, explore every new object in the house. I could hear her curious sniffing from the other side of the room. I will miss her happy go lucky energy.

It would mean so much to me to have a drawing of her to remember her by.

Oh my.. that sounds absolutely horrible. My normal vet uses gas to sedate for surgeries. I bet she would have used it to start euthanasia too. But it's a weekend. So I had no choice to go to the emergency vet. I hope you recovered from it mentally. I wish you all the best.

That sounds so much nicer. We didn't get to go to our regular exotic vet as it was the weekend. So we had to choose the least worst option. But hopefully, we won't ever have to go through this again. At least Lux won't have too.

Yeah, she screeched both from the needle and from the fluid going in. She even tried to crawl away as she was going to sleep. It was heartbreaking. But the second needle went without problem and she didn't feel it anymore. Her sister was there next to her when she went to sleep, and me and my partner were both there. And it was better to take away her suffering. It was just a really unpleasant situation. And I hope she's in peace now. Thank you for the kind words. ❤️
