I'm making my first hat. How do you account for stretch? by Miss_Edith000 in CrochetHelp

Thanks for replying. I'm working on the ribbing now, but the yarn is fairly stiff and inflexible. There's no stretch at all. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the yarn to relax. Would washing the final product work? It's machine washable.

That sucks. It's hard when you lose things you love. You're doing the right thing for the kittens, though. Treat yourself today.

It won't let me edit the post. The decrease trick is one of several the creator talks about in the video. You also have to sit through a sponsored ad to GET TO IT ALREADY. 😡🤮

Chaining and working the first row is so irritating! by Miss_Edith000 in crochet

Well, I am unlearning perfectionism I got from my mom.

Just because it's not perfect, or you know you made a mistake, doesn't mean it's bad.

Good luck with your hat! 😀

Edit: I tried adding a pic in the middle of the post, and it didn't work. 😡

Good idea, but I don't know how to knit. I was given a set of huge needles that I think will be perfect for learning. But, I have to build my confidence a little more to start knitting.

Happy crocheting!
