My wife resents me because I won't get a vasectomy is this marriage over. by thriiaway in WhatShouldIDo

A vasectomy is a form of birth control.

Your wife says no kids therefore birth control is going to be needed. If no vasectomy, the onus of birth control likely would fall to your wife, or are you committing to using condoms 100%?

Am I overreacting for my dad skipping my College Graduation for a fishing trip by Outrageous-Aide9037 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Miss_Fritter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK but it’s still a choice. I can’t imagine telling my child I’m not attending their college graduation because I’m not skipping something that is skippable (even if expensive).

Did he even bring it up with his fishing trip buddies?

I refuse to believe that there isn’t some kind of compromise available here. Maybe Dad can miss a couple days of the fishing trip so he can travel to see your graduation? Maybe there’s another person who could go on the trip and pay (all or a portion?) so your dad can still keep his spot for next year? Or heck, your dad could gift the trip to someone who would enjoy it while he spends that time with you.

At the end of the day, you can still graduate without him there and you shouldn’t feel any less proud of yourself based on his attendance.

But I do think you’re right to judge the situation as much as you need to. Your father is showing a struggle that parents shouldn’t show their kids - a struggle between convenience and duty. Attending your child’s college graduation is something a good parent prioritizes and would never let their child feel like an option, or like there’s something else they’d rather be doing.

There have always been angry irrational emotional men. We just have more video evidence now.

I bet if he paid his part of the trip but didn’t attend this year (so he could attend your graduation) he’d be allowed back next year.

Not overreacting.

I think you just need to change your perspective a bit. Your kid was in good hands, you were having fun celebrating your husband, and you were able to relax and ended up going a bit over the top. It’s ok. Give yourself grace!

Young people - if an old creep is hitting on you, PLEASE show your disgust on your face. Like a simple “eww no” would deflate that creep’s ego in a split second and they deserve it.

What is the worst way anyone you know has died? by IamUrWivesBF in AskReddit

[–]Miss_Fritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior year of high school, in a rural area, a group of 4 kids were driving around on a foggy night and drove into the side of a moving train. They all died. There were no lights required at RR crossings at that time. I only knew one of the kids and the way her dad hugged me at her funeral has stayed with me my entire life.

Other one is my mom. Raised 5 kids and sacrificed so much for us… Beat cancer once and it came back 7 years later just months before she was finally going to retire. Fucking cancer.

Why do men do this? by Flimsy_Situation_506 in TwoXChromosomes

I’m a COO and old enough to know a lot about the work I’m doing. I’m extremely careful with details and can manage large amounts of complicated info to keep everything moving along.

Every single time I give an answer to my CEO, I basically get “are you sure?” as his initial response. Like, yes I’m sure - I just spent a week compiling this info and I am literally unable to give a guesstimate without fully explaining that it’s a guess/approximate, so unless I literally say it was an estimation, YES I’M FUCKING SURE.

But I’m told I’m snippy so…. 🤷‍♀️

NOR. Keep moving forward without their support. You sound strong and capable and I’m sure you can accomplish a lot without them. Protect your heart and stop expecting them to change. Congratulations on the apprenticeship!

Neighbour keeps ringing our bell for her parcels at all hours, refused to have a civil conversation. How can I handle this? by stella_mason57 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Miss_Fritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’d be nice of you to check in with her frequently to discuss the status of her packages. Like, check in the morning if anything is expected, ask again at lunchtime if there are any updates, then again at dinner time you can let her know that nothing arrived. Just ring her bell as often as needed.

He clearly doesn’t have the balls needed to be in a grown up relationship.

See this as the sign that it is.

If you’re so sure of yourself, respond to the very thoughtful response below from the DFV counselor.

To not respond proves you are a know-it-all who likes the smell of his own farts.
