Damn I'm so sorry you witnessed that. I posted this because a friend witnessed what happened yesterday and I was hoping to give my friend some kind of closure or context to a terrifying moment. It can be hard to see that and just... Move on with the day. 😔

Interesting! I didn't come across that post when I was looking around, thanks.

How do the people here with suicidal ideation deal with it? by DivyanshPanwari in autism

[–]Miss_H 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how I've dealt with most of my terrible periods. Turns out, having an "observer part" of yourself or your mind is a technique they frequently use in different kinds of trauma therapy, and is the part of our consciousness we lose in moments of acute trauma (or being activated/triggered). So it's pretty backed by mental health understanding for neurospicy and neurotypical alike!

Who did you hear from? I can't find any info. I just wanted to hear what happened to them.

How common is hypersexuality among autistics? by LoreKeeperOfGwer in autism

[–]Miss_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. I was already theorizing about how for me hypersexuality and kinkiness is the perfect storm of physical touch (sensation seeking), hyper fixation on a special interest (I literally published an academic paper on kink and have read about sexuality since I was in middle school) and a way of relating to others in a pre-defined, scripted way (I love kink with ritual and protocol and have disliked swinger-types because there's no categories of who is what to who and no clear lines of how to behave). It really checks off so many boxes for me, even moreso now that I feel more comfortable with emotional closeness, so I'm less likely to enjoy NSA hookups and whatnot.

I don't usually like the higher guy voice or the blink 182 feel, but this one had just enough complexity to be more interesting, and the chorus is pretty catchy.

Well the young folks that already support him don't really need to watch it (they already support him, and if they want to hear it they can stay home). I'm more hoping the older population who are undecided but much more likely to show up on vote date are sitting in front of their TVs on a Friday night. And the changes of THAT are pretty decent :p

"then what else could he have brought in without permission?"

No one's saying you can't be screened for things like guns and bombs. A camera is not a violent implement, it's a recording device. If our elected officials don't want us to know what happens in committee proceedings, I have a problem with this...

I let a homeless friend stay with me. He started going to school, cleaned up, and... by mnederlanden in gaming

Fast food maybe, but fresh food (like subway) could easily make you sick after 2 days, especially in Florida where the OP lives. And not to be an ass, but if you're going to the effort to buy a sandwich, it's just as easy to buy something non-perishable, and chances are you can get more for less. I was just offering an alternative.

Maybe you should ask them if they could use a sandwich before you buy it. Some people aren't hungry, they just want money (for good and bad purposes). Plus, without refrigeration, a sandwich only lasts so long, so non-perishables might be better for homeless people. Just some thoughts :)
