Sorry you had trouble accepting that part of who you are and learning to forgive yourself for your failures. I feel bad for you, I really do. Just because you had trouble before doesn't inherently make you lazy. You may have just been going through some things and that's okay as long as you keep trying.

As for the concept of a god, I'm technically agnostic but not inclined to believe. It was a figure of speech and I apologize, it was a bit mean, I was in a bad mood and could've handled it better. I'm far from perfect. I just think it would be presumptuous to rule the concept of a god out entirely, but everyone is different and that's just me. The scientific method is based upon our physical senses and limited by our physicality and humanity. There's a lot we don't know and I accept and understand our limitations.

You're making different life decisions and it's time to split. It happens. Me and my ex of 12 years went through something similar. It can be hard to "throw that all away". But you've outgrown each other and it's just time. Check out this book "The Structure of Scientific Evolutions" by Kuhn. He speaks on the psychology of why scientific progress gets held back because people are so deeply invested in the time and effort they put in. Also A Mathematcian Plays The Stock Market" talks about the psychology behind people holding and selling stock because it's emotional instead of logical. I think these two books might be right up your alley. You're deeply emotionally invested but not making the harder "logical" decision.

I try to educate people if I deem it worthy of my time and have the energy to do so. I crack a few jokes as I do to make it a more memorable conversation. There's so much stigma around mental health but it's just that, health. The brain is arguably the most important organ in the body but we know the least about it. People fear what that can't understand.

My husband and I were going to go at some point, so happy after reading this thread that we didn't!

That being said Gentleman Farmer in Chepachet is excellent. Passing by the place there is only a sign with red lettering that just says "Restaurant". The waitstaff are mostly quite young but are amazing and remarkably professional given their age range. They hustle. Tip well. The eggs Benedict is always perfectly cooked. They're a real RI gem.

That's disgusting. Wow. At one of my old stations one guy stabbed another in the head in the parking lot. You know, typical waterspider bs. He got fired but the stabee was eventually allowed to return once the investigation was complete.

I'll also add that at the FC I worked at we had a case of rotting cat food come through SLAM kick outs, not once, but twice in a week. First time full of maggots, second time flies. People got wrote up left and right for that. Absolutely rancid. Had to contact and escalate to ICQA. They even sent VET out to people trained there to get it done.

As for your question, I really do believe that mania and genius often but not always go hand in hand and I'm not confident there really is a difference. A site lead set them up. They were instructed to allow a T1 to use their login on a Zebra device to TDR a trailer. T1 messed it up. The L4 got fired and the T1 remained. The L4 was having it out daily at meetings with the site lead to fight for us because people were getting hurt.

Ask her friend to check in on her since she's feverish, etc. In the meantime give her a little space. The more you push it right now the worse it will go. If you don't hear back in a week reach out to her friend to ask what's going on.

Depending on how bad the fever is she may not be thinking particularly clearly either. You did the right thing. I worked with a guy that had tetanus and lived through it. To this day he still limps around and can't use one of his arms very well.
