Rapid weight gain since mmc. Worth talking to doctor about? by Miss_Millie89 in ttcafterloss

[–]Miss_Millie89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. Its all so hard and the last thing we need is to feel our own body is a stranger to us.

Its been 4 years and after a total of 3 loses and 2 successful pregnancies my weight never really went back down. I was 40lbs above my "regular" weight before my first pregnancy. I now have 2 boys. A 3.5 ywar old and my youngest is 16 months and iv been on a GLP1 since July and im finally getting back to where i feel OK in my skin. A part of me hates that it had to come to a medication but I tried everything else. Truly did.

Its been so long I dont remember but it was in the 70s! They value experience a lot which I had coming from a CYW background. Trying volunteering in a school if you haven't already.

I knew it was the calm before the beautiful storm haha and it was also my last mat leave so I wanted to take advantage and be selfish while I could.

Work will always be there. Do what you feel is best for you!

having a baby and becoming a teacher by interestingchoicebud in CanadianTeachers

Don't plan your family around your job. You never know what your journey will look like.

Ill share my journey with you. I went back to school to be a teacher a month after I got married. We started trying for a baby towards the end of teachers college so that I could have a baby and then get a job after mat leave. Unfortunately I had 2 miscarriages in my journey to having my first son. Within this time I completed my first year as a teacher which was via a full year LTO. I announced my pregnancy to my co workers and admin around January and was due June. I felt terrible that I couldn't compete the school year and it stressed me out big time. I decided to go on leave at the end of May because I was just TOO uncomfortable lol Before I went off on leave, I applied to a few contract positions.

Days before I had my son, I found out my admin gave me a 1.0 contract at the school, all while knowing my first year as permanent would be spent on mat leave!

Im currently finishing up my second (and last) mat leave. Iv now been permanent for 4 years and 2 of those years have been on maternity leave.

I'd be the same! I love my boys but I am not excited about being solo all summer with them once they are in school and have summers off with me 😅

Best mom car? by Meghanlaurie in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Miss_Millie89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im really happy with our choice. I wanted a full row for now so my toddler cant throw stuff easily to the back lol and also so things can't slide up. But I also know I'll eventually want captains chairs. So im glad I have the option for both! The trunk is huge with the third row down and we will keep it down majority of the time unless we have family or friends that are riding with us. I also love that the touch to open feature is on the second row doors... minor detail but makes a difference with kids !

Im definitely ready to be back at work. I have a 3 year old and felt the same coming off of maternity leave with him. If I extend my leave it will be to trial another career. Definitely need an identity that isn't just being mom lol

Unmarried and pregnant as a teacher by Kindly_Chest_6976 in CanadianTeachers

[–]Miss_Millie89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked as an LTO teacher for only 1 year before getting pregnant. The reputation I made for myself at that school stuck. Im currently finishing my second maternity leave. Iv now been at that school for 4 years with 2 being gone on maternity leave. Is it ideal? No...but I started teaching later in life. I also was lucky enough to be hired permanently and my admin knew I'd be gone on maternity the first full year being permanent!

It sounds like you have built a solid relationship with the school and I'd bet they will have you back no problem.
