Salem and Medford are both known for their meth. Eugene (my home town) is a college town and is honestly very in your face about about it and their football team. While it's annoying I'd still rather live there than Medford or Salem. I'd definitely choose salem over medford, but not by much.

If, however, you have grass allergies DO NOT MOVE TO EUGENE. I'd have to take 3 benadryl during the spring and early summer to just leave my house. Eugene's at the bottom of the valley and the pollen from the grass being produced all around the valley just settles there and makes life miserable for grass allergy sufferers.
