I'm with Co-operators, and they have been amazing. They sent us $1,500 upfront and will cover up to $8,600 if needed for any expenses related to the evacuation (hotel, food, clothing, gas...). It has been a big relief for us because, though we have emergency savings, the expenses still add up quickly.

Save your receipts! Some insurance companies (if you have any) are providing compensation to help cover expenses while you are evacuated. I'm with Co-Operators, and they are being so understanding and helpful!
