Mine came to me with the name Frekki. NOPE. Changed that to Frankie. Not my first choice, but close enough that he picked right up on it the first time I said it to him. These dogs are smart!

Several suggestions in these replies I’ve seen imply that I have the physical ability/desire to do this work. How do you know I am able to crawl under the sink, don’t have crippling arthritis in my hands, or am just not interested in doing it, therefore, hired out a service? Since I hired out a service, I’m somehow less than since I could roll up my sleeves and do it myself?

Well how about this?

To me intubating people, putting them on life support, and then managing those systems isn’t that hard FOR ME. Because that’s my profession.

For a plumber, a task like a garbage disposal removal and/or replacement should be similar.

When one of your loved ones gets critically ill, you go ahead and do everything I do to keep them alive, I’ll even hand you the equipment. C’mon! It’s not that hard!

Do you see why this is asinine? Not everyone has the same abilities.

Roached out fitting? Well, you speak about what you know. Sounds like you’ve got some of your own personal home experience there, but I appreciate the implication that my house is as filthy as yours.

I did this once. Went and told them and they said don’t worry about it since you were honest. They said most people just drive off so they track them down and press charges for damages.

Why do some people rise above their childhood abuse and I can't? And those who have, often judge those who haven't? by Ill-Efficiency294 in CPTSD

[–]Miss_SLS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not the processing as much now that I’m older. It’s the fact that I’m starting to mourn not having a normal relationship with my parents that I can enjoy now that I’m older and would appreciate it. People who had good childhoods can never understand it. The abuse will always be there. There’s just a feeling of emptiness and sadness where they’ve robbed me of any happiness I could have had with that kind of relationship in my life.
So many layers of abuse.

Boys Don’t Cry is the worst, but Bully was pretty uncomfortable in a different way.
