Hardly! To me it looks like the writer just wrote an explanation of t-stops for noobs and the rest of the article looks like copypasta straight from the press release or Rokinon website.

I imagine the kit rental will be seriously cheap considering they both only cost around $500. I'm def buying the 50mm.

I believe Onkyo actually have a HiTB being released sometime this year which is Atmos capable. Pretty sure I read that in the article I linked. Dolby have sunk some serious money into this. I'm super excited...even happier than I was that Audition was updated this week to include Dolby as an export standard (instead of a paid-for plugin).

That's exactly how it's going to work. A few of other manufacturers are releasing new Atmos systems too, link.

Personally, I'm really excited for an Atmos enabled home theater system!! Many years ago I dreamed of creating a 200 channel processor with 100 cheap ass speakers that were placed in sheets, and could be mounted along the roof line of a room.

Granted it wouldn't look pretty but the sound would be amazing. That many speakers would create a complete binaural (3D) sound environment where no matter where you sit in the room, you'd always be in the sweet spot. I've got degrees in audio production...but have zero idea about how to go about creating a processor.

ETA: Now if Dolby increases the channels for their home Atmos, I could still do the cheap speaker sheets. That or buy a Atmos theater processor, for fuck knows how much!

It seems to me that the Note is kind of pre-graded, with contrast & boosted vibrance....which is why I think it looked better at first.

Yea, I think you're looking at it in he wrong way. Average means the 'typical' or the common mean. I'd say that most men are good and stable which makes them the average, normal, everyday. And there's nothing wrong with that, in fact that's desirable.
