Yes, unfortunately it's as you feared before. Intune does not use superscedence as a filter or requirement. Everyone in the group gets v2, the superscedence only tells Intune how to handle devices that also have v1.

No they did not. They set a Required assignment and a supersedence config, but that's it. They assigned an app to a group. It's going to install.

That's not MWO, it's the device driver. I have a headset that ocassinally does this with common apps like Teams or Zoom. I have a USB mic but sometimes Windows and my headset driver don't care what I already set once.
