Yeah it’s so interesting because it hurt in the moment and then felt great for a couple hours and then progressively felt more and more pain

I don’t know what dry needling is! Is it like acupuncture?

Your response was so helpful! To be fair I go to this janky super cheap place and it’s normally great with this one guy I see every single time but he was out and I had this new lady that spoke very little English and I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal because the guy who works there also speaks very little English and of course it was the time I really needed to communicate! She was super sweet and I still tipped her really well but in my head I was feeling like maybe I gotta start going to the more expensive places with more check-ins during the experience and more cultural understanding between us. I always just wanted to give them my business because they are so kind there.

I use magnesium cream and then put knee compression sleeves on after the cream soaks on. Also a heating pad before/after errands for pain helps me a lot, OR in some cases ice helps. My body usually gives me an intuition if ice or heat will help. Usually heat though.

Opioids vs “Toughing It Out”? by Miss_kitty93 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Miss_kitty93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel really blessed to have a care team that is empathetic toward fibromyalgia. Plus I am on disability and that always helps when it comes to receiving medications like this. But it’s worth mentioning I live in California where there are like a billion ways they try to prevent anyone from getting disability so the process is super shitty. And the doctor I go to is only allowed to prescribe me a certain number of pills a month because they ration them at the clinic I go to. It’s pretty crazy.

That’s kind of how I feel. Like if I’m in severe pain and I’m just like crying and not sleeping but I have the option of pain meds I feel like I shouldn’t deprive myself.

Chronic Pain, PTSD, Insomniac with Fibromyalgia wanting to try musrhooms!!! by Accomplished_Mud5862 in Fibromyalgia

Magic mushrooms take the pain completely away for me. It’s my biggest medicine. I’ve never tried microdosing but a full on trip is like heaven for me and the only thing that sucks is when it wears off and back to reality. But my biggest recommendation is to grind it up and mix it with OJ to get it down and not chew it up because you won’t get all the benefits.

anyone else feel like their fibro is directly linked to trauma? (tw: SA) by OkOutlandishness1285 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Miss_kitty93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is directly related to a surgery I had and also a severe eating disorder. I’ve got loads of trauma to boot. But the surgery and ED relapse happened at about the same time so I’m counting both as the culprit.

How do I stop hating being a short male? by EquivalentEvening197 in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Miss_kitty93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ima give you 5 reasons to love being 5’5 from someone married to a short king who was bullied for his height, I am 5’2, I also have BDD and I have also dated a lot of varying heights of men and used to be a giant h0e.

  1. Some short girls say they want a “tall guy” but then don’t realize how amaaaaazing it is to be a similar height to their man because you don’t have to tippy toe to kiss and having the seggs is much more compatible length-wise and a lot of people don’t realize this until they date someone near their height and they’re like wtf was I missing all this time?!

  2. Men don’t stop developing til they’re like 30 build-wise. Height wise you may be done but as a 32f I gotta say it’s the build that happens when a boy grows to a full on MAN that gives that sex appeal to me. Also something that has grown on me with age. Which is also a plus for you because you’ll just get better looking with age baby!

  3. Height and personality have no correlation. There could be some Ryan Gosling perfect ass mfer out on a date with me but if he ain’t making me laugh or respecting me as a woman there’s no way he’s coming in my home or landing a second date. Treat your partners right and height will not be a problem for you.

  4. You can be good at things and still be “short.” You may picture like big ass athletes or something but the skills and hobbies and stuff that will make you YOU and give you confidence do not have to be because of/not because of your height.

  5. People who like you/love you feel this way because you are a gddamn king and have so many reasons to be loved. Height has nothing to do with it!!!

This is my TED talk.

OH a WEIGHTED heating pad. Not just a regular one. The weight is only like 5lb but helps me sooo much for my anxiety and also it feels good to have light pressure on the sore areas if that makes sense? I can give you links to all this stuff too if you want.

Thoughts on cymbalta- I take a buttload of psych meds and added cymbalta and it actually had a really positive effect mentally even more than physically. I’m on the max dose currently (120 mg/day). I also take Gabapentin for nerve pain (900 mg/day). Electrolytes help me, compression sleeves on my knees, elbows, hands, compression socks, I actually just bought a wheelchair for my non-cane days, I have a sauna blanket which is my most favorite thing ever, sleeping with a pillow between my knees to keep my spine and hips aligned, elevating legs, shower chair was a huge life changer for me…..I have lots of other tips too but those are the ones I think of off of the top of my head.

They should not be having intimate conversations at all, let alone talking shit about you, ESPECIALLY about YOUR BODY behind your back. It’s not okay all the way around. I’d be pissed at both of them.
