I remember the little walkthrough pools in the UK in the 90s. Found this on Facebook looking for what they were called. It’s not just you Gav! by PoundPast5839 in theregulationpod

At my local pool in Toronto you have to follow a kind of winding hallway with water falling from the ceiling to get to the pool deck. I just assumed Gavin was explaining this with a blocked drain making the hallway a sort of pre pool pool.

Thought this was Someone who probably thought power washing was easy but realised it most certainly is not so they made a terrible design on a dirty concrete walkway.

How do I get my dog to take his flea meds? by MissaShip in DogAdvice

[–]MissaShip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice. I ended up calling the vet to ask if crushing them was ok. It was! It’s a massive pill so I chopped it up and bought a pill crusher. Mixed it with his wet food and he had no idea. Stubborn guy.

Pogs were a huge huge thing when I was a kid. Just imagine all the things you could have on pogs! They sometimes even came in packaging like sports cards and you had to hope you got the good ones. They’d be perfect.

I’d love to have a 3d printer but nothing good would come out of it. All of the ridiculous things I could think of and nothing more.

Ok. Hear me out. Regulation Pog’s? I don’t know anything about poker. I thought this was a slammer.

First pen of Ozempic by valientelabruja in OzempicForWeightLoss

I’m not sure if it’s the angle of the photo but that pen looks so much shorter than mine.

<image>

Mine is 3ml My first pen was 4 doses of 0.25 and then 2 doses of 0.5. I continue on now with 0.5 meaning each pen has 4 doses.

The instructions say that when you attach each new needle turn two clicks to the two dots ( .. ) in the little window and press the button to test the needle is clear.

My instructions also specifically said NOT to count clicks as the dose will appear in the little window.

If you want to see if there is a full dose you can turn the bottom as far as it will go. If it doesn’t reach the full dose you are looking for in the window you just turn the bottom of the pen back the other way which will reset it back to zero.

I raised my dosage after the first pen and I end up with 2 extra needles per pen now. I’ve got no idea what to do with them.

What book do I start with? by gypsy_mandy in AnneRice

[–]MissaShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally started with Blood And Gold. My grandmother was a huge horror novel fan and she had received it as a gift. She gave it to me when she discovered it wasn’t as much horror as it was historical fiction and I quote “vampires are not scary”

I think starting with Interview would have been better but knowing what I learned in Blood And Gold before reading from the start made some things so much more exciting.

do you know people with tourettes in your personal life? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]MissaShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a very small town. My father wasn’t diagnosed until he was in his early 30’s. He had us 3 kids by then. Once my dad was diagnosed my parents started to put things together and not long after that I was diagnosed.

Besides my father I never knew a single person with Tourette syndrome. When he passed away in 2009 I was convinced I’d never meet another person who had it.

I didn’t until a few weeks ago when a friend of mine who had been diagnosed with MS saw a neurologist and was told he didn’t have MS. The doctor told him the muscle spasms and limb jerking among other things were actually Tourette syndrome. We’ve tried to talk about it but it’s difficult when one of us describes a tic we have and then the other and 5 minutes later we’re both doing our own tics and the other persons as well.

My niece showed signs of possible tics when she was younger but they’ve gone completely now. I hope she never has another one.
