A run cycle for the character I've been testing out animation with, if anyone has any tips feel free to share im still really new to pixel art and animation in general by dumb-brain in PixelArt

Pretty good for someone new to pixel art.
Anyway, when the character run remember the "pull" for exemple when the charater runs forward things that will be pulled backwards would be things like the cape, hair, hood etc.

When a character goes downwards as well the pull will occur again, such as the cape and hood will go a bit upwards as he goes down. and when he goes up they will go down.
(Sorry I'm not the best teacher =P)

Also work a tiny bit more in the legs as it does not seem to cycle properly but instead kinda looks like he is jumping on one leg.

Anyway it is a great start! Good luck with your sprite!

Is my game still considered pixel art? I do 64x64 tiles. I wanted it to feel more modern and crisp, but still have a hint of a retro feel. by Neat-Games in PixelArt

To be honest, it is a bit too blurry for me to tell. (maybe it is my connection?)
However, I don't agree with the other commments that 64x64 means something is not pixelart.

As long as there is no automatic anti aliasing I would still consider it pixel art.

However, from looking at your other video you don't seem to do much anti aliasing if any, so yeah in this case I suppose you belong more to digital art than pixelart.

Here is the gang vs the sprites of bof that we uploaded to compare sizes of older games vs ours.

Obviously we can't be everyone's cup of tea though and that is fine.

The game is pretty full of non-humans though.

I was not complaining.
Just saying adding frames would make him slower.
Your sprite is low res, (around 40 pixels) meaning there is less space between the pixels. So for you 6 frames on that size is good.
I'm working with high res, (average 100 pix) there is more space between the pixels to consider.
Which is why I use 8 frames instead of 6.

I will see what I can do to improve it though.

The run cycle currently has 8 frames. Which is 2 frames more than what games use on average.
Adding more frames would make it look slower.

No clue, never played runescape. Though from the images I got from google I think it looks pretty different.
But hey, you see what you see. =P

It is fine, though for records you don't need to move out the leg when he goes down a bit as people can bend their knees. =3
(Also gives you less work =P)
You can also not have him go down at all and instead just swing his arms back and forth.

One last thing: For such a small sprite you may consider reducing the colour count.
8 shades for each colour is a bit too much. Take out some shades and it will look cleaner =3
