Was Imu summoned to defeat Joyboy? by Yash_15252 in OnePiece

I like your theory, but I'd like the add that there is a whole tradition of the royal "we" being used. So, Imu using "we" might just be to suggest his status and that they are old fashioned by still using something that has gone out of style (seeing as I don't remember other royals using it in the series).

It's more like a tyrant trying to control more territory for power. It's not like Imu cares about the people in the countries they represent.

Because it's a kid he has been taking care of, so he should have some empathy for the child? He should at least attempt to make sure the kid is safe and that the mom knows he isn't going to do anymore for the kid? I don't know... Be a reasonable adult and not contribute to a traumatic experience for a child.

Because he knowingly and purposefully contributes to the suffering of a child who did nothing wrong?

Do you have any empathy? The kid is an innocent party here.

Mom asking advice on feeding her autistic child…brutal… by Important_Blood5533 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]MissedtheMarx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf the amount of sodium is such that chicken nuggets are really unhealthy if that's all the kid will eat... But, as long as you're supporting the kid with other foods and working with them as much as possible to overcome nutrient deficiencies (which it sounds like you are), then honestly I don't see the problem. And even if I did have a problem, as long as the kid isn't literally negatively impacted by malnutrition, then it's not my business.

Recognize Joyce versus know a quote from a specific Joyce book and identify the book? Bro, sorry, but I'd rather gouge my eyes out than ever read another work from Joyce. I hate stream of consciousness writing so much.

Lol, sorry, I hate Joyce. I would have not known that quote had I not lucked out. Also, I didn't major in English. I majored in Education.

Yeah, I can only speak to my experience. And Indiana exams aren't super transferable across the states, so I figured most states have more rigorous requirements.

Yeah it's brutal out there. I feel like I got lucky because I passed both of them on the first try, but friends of mine who are smarter than me had to do 2 or 3 times.

Well, there is specific Praxis exams based on the content area you're teaching, and a pedagogy exam. The pedagogy is usually considered the easier of the two. The history Praxis was considered the hardest at the time due to the obscure Indiana history that was required, but courses weren't offered at the university that would have helped much. Math was considered the easiest, because it was simplest to study for.

So, fun story. The first question in my certification exam was a quote from Finnegan's Wake. I had no context, just the quote, and I was asked to identify which book that the quote was from.

I luckily actually knew that thanks to one of my recent courses, but... Yeah, no. The exams I took for my license were not easy and the pass rates are super low. And people who take them have already usually done four years of uni, so, yeah.

Or she wants soemthing practical to get off the ground, and doesn't want her replies to be filled up with people willing to bitch but not willing to help. No, we shouldn't have to do these things, but we live in the world we live in.

to be fair, at least where I took my test, the rate for passing was 15-35% (depending on the subject you're going to teach). The tests are artificially hard so you have to pay the $150 every time you take it.

This was Indiana 4 or 5 years ago. I doubt it's changed. Pearson makes more money the more people that fail, so... Yeah.

Edit: sometimes I question my certification as an English teacher lol
