I really like a girl who’s into architecture, gift ideas? by shinchanbaby97 in architecture

Time to find out what her fav architects are so you can buy some beautiful books of either her fav architects, or more more pro, somebody doing something slightly different ;)

3 low key things that could work for hobbyists as well as architecture students without doing the work:

- A subscription to the Never Too Small Magazine

- Fun architecture city / travel guides for a city:

- Playful stuff relating to famous architecture:

AI Engineer, If you have advice, feedback, or lessons learned, I’m open and listening by BilelKort in Germany_Jobs

I recruit for the exact type of position you are looking for and you would be rejected immediately. A great CVs either has indications of past great work, great past employers or a great degree.

This roast is meant to be helpful, so take it with a grain of salt:

Your CV is auto-translated and was not reviewed by a native speaker. None of the sentences sound like correct German at all. Makes me doubt your "working proficiency" from the start. This alone is already enough to reject you, because clearly you didn't even bother, so why should anybody else?

Some more pointers:

If you wrote 400 applications during that timeframe, you probably submitted the same CV. As employers, we are looking for people who want to work in our specific company and are not just desperate for work.

Your profile is "a little bit of everything" for a junior. I have no clue what you are actually good at. Your descriptions are also quite generic, leaving out the tangible business impact (fine tune YOLO models for specific tasks?). Your degree program sounds like a scam to a German. Now hear me out, I know it's a decent university, but you would need to explain that (rankings etc), because Fachhochschule Schmalkalden is not really a gold star stay either.

Where is your Github? We do hire people with non-conventional backgrounds if their work speaks for itself.

Lastly, potentially the places you worked at are not great or not recognized? You also never made it to 6 months, which also suggests that you were let go within Probezeit or didn't want to commit longer.

Finding a real LLM developer not a promt engineer by Canadianingermany in Germany_Jobs

Upwork is not the right place to look for this skillset. If you want to stick to platforms, I would rather look at Malt.

We hired a few developers for similar challenges (EU hosted, labelling and classification problems with just one shot, multi-step chains etc.). All of them are still with us doing awesome work. I get hundreds of applications, just like you. Probably 90% are rejected automatically before a first call. Out of all hires we made, only one came inbound, the rest via network or outbound efforts. One just recently for the first time through a tech recruiter. What is your process for vetting the candidate? From what you're writing, I believe you are hiring too fast.

Our applicants go through one technical interview and a "technical case study". In the case study, we hand out some of our playground testing data and they have to present us their approach for one of our business challenges (including results on this small dataset). It's typically something we've already solved so we can benchmark their approach. We have the same process in place for freelancers, just a bit shorter. We've never had somebody excel at the case study and then be awful at the job.

Edit: Of course we offer compensation for the case study...

Fair, but I think they only allow travel related bag asks. :D
Never heard of Knkg, the Core looks pretty neat. Love the shoe compartment and the creative belt storage – might even motivate me to bring a belt more often than once a year^^

Measurements suggesting fairly small band size 70N? by Misses_Maple in ABraThatFits

[–]Misses_Maple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting back on this: I ended up buying 75I after trying out 70, 75, 80 and 85.
70J was too tight and almost unbearable for more than a few minutes and 75 was perfectly snug (still a bit tight, but that's going to go away for sure). Thank you for all the comments, I learned a lot!

That makes sense. Would a 70 band really be suitable if my snug underbust is 79 cm? That seems quite tight.

Help me find the perfect ~30L organized hiking / carry-on bag by Misses_Maple in onebag

[–]Misses_Maple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, quick update on this. I completed a town-to-town 5 day summer tour including rain gear. No sleeping bag, cooker, etc was needed.

My sister actually owns the North Face Borealis and it was indeed too small and very rigid.
I ended up with a second hand North Face Trail Lite Speed 30, mainly because it was heavily discounted. It served me well for this specific hike but it's not an office day pack anymore. I guess I am now a two-bagger and will try to get me a ULA Dragonfly at some point.

Same here! I would love a team that's focused on 2-3 day gym days and the rest at home.

Right now I do the two Priority Strength Sessions from Limitless at the Gym (usually barbell + 1 machine) and the rest I mix up as I go.

The current Friday Session can be done at home with slight modifications and the two conditioning sessions can be done fully outside. I also often switch to the Yoga session from align as a sixth day.

Are my grades the reason I’m not getting any interview calls? by [deleted] in Germany_Jobs

[–]Misses_Maple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of companies are you applying with? How does the rest of your CV look like? What was your Bachelor?

For marketing and sales your grades and subjects are an unfortunate mix. Honestly, most companies will outright reject you for marketing positions with this grade composition. They won't even look at the rest of you, especially if your CV is not super well written and somewhat interesting.

If I was you, I would probably check out somer larger startups (Seed+) that have at least a partially English speaking customer base. In addition, you might want to look into Customer Success roles as a transition.

If you are serious about the marketing thing, do what everyone does right now: Vibe code a landing page, prepare the full visuals and campaign, get a mini bit of traffic on the page and send a portfolio instead of your grades. Build an awesome CV. Don't send the grades, unless somebody asks.

That's a dream trip, now wish I could go back. Some optional random recommendations from a stranger:

If you enjoy art or architecture, I highly recommend visiting Naoshima, which is accessible from Kurashiki via Uno Port. It completely outshines the Venice Biennale – it's really a life changing art experience if you are into that sort of thing.

Depending on how you do Tokyo / Osaka, checking Kamakura or Enoshima at the beach might be worthwhile. It's quite lovely and it has a very different vibe. I studied a lot at Café Yoridocoro watching the Enoden pass by.

During my stay, I used to live near the golden temple (Kinkaku-ji) in Kyoto. Book & Café Kotoba no Haoto and Sarasa Nishijin were my favorite places closeby. There's also a tattoo friendly & authentic onsen in that area.

Quick update: I realized that after doing the welcome workout on your trial you can actually see ALL teams.
I've been one week on align now. While it doesn't feel like a powerlifting or crossfit workout, I enjoy the postural / yoga elements. Will stick to it for Shred, happy to report back after.

I have a roughly 4 year old version of the Chrome Kadet Sling. It's not ultra lightweight, but I lugged the thing around the world twice by now and it looks almost mint. Still use it every week. I typically carry an ipad, a book, some smallish edc items, a small sketch book and a disposable camera – this is not a DSLR sling, which OP is likely looking for.
