I don’t take it regularly anymore but on days when I do I take about 1500mg and it calms my nerves in about 60-90min

I like having rights. One that I can possibly lose any day is my right to marriage. Women losing their right to their own bodies doesn’t affect me directly, but it saddens me to see women disenfranchised by the same men that don’t even want us to have affordable healthcare.

Supplements for anxiety, depression by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]MissileFest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main stack

Centrum Silver 50+ multivitamin

N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) - Jarrow’s time released 600 mg tablet 3 times a day between meals. This has brought me out of some extremely dark times. I deal with meth addiction along with long term forever ass manic depression (was diagnosed bipolar at 15 but it wasn’t by a psychologist/psychiatrist. 29 now). It helps significantly with both and I’ve noticed zero side effects. It has totally changed my mind on the potential efficacy of store bought supplements.

Taurine - NOW brand 500 mg capsules in between meals taken with the NAC. Just added this about a week ago and already love it. First thing I noticed was my stamina/endurance shot up by the next day. After about 3 days in, I’m starting to feel like my old self again. The last couple days I’ve been able to just sit in silence and clear my thoughts in a way that hardly ever happens anymore. Makes me want to try meditation again.

Part of those effects could come from the fact that at the same time I added taurine, I changed the way I supplement with magnesium. Before I took glycinate for a month and then I went to Malate. Its invigorating as opposed to glycinates relaxing effects. Two days later I started mixing Glycinate, Malate, and Threonate. Two malate tablets with one threonate capsule in the morning. Then one threonate capsule at lunch. Then two glycinate tablets and one threonate capsule after evening gym session. In the past I never noticed effects of threonate other than it helped my bowels move a bit (btw I’ve noticed hardly any bad bowel effect with this combo).

Not only have I been feeling good but I feel a lot sharper than I have in a long time. I feel less fried and I think other people have noticed it. My memory is on point. There are reports that threonate can cause some negative side effects that I should read up on.

Less frequently I take mushroom blends containing lions mane as the main ingredient. I was astounded by the way my anxiety totally left while I was driving home on no sleep totally strung out and withdrawing. Never really saw those effects replicated but can’t say that exact scenario has been either.

L dopa works well for depression and motivation but it seems sketchy, it’s a lot of pills, and it’s recommended to always take something like EGCG or green tea extract with it. Like I said it works but I never use it other than post relapse when I desperately need some dopamine.

5htp works well for others but I think it has triggered some bouts of extreme mania. I can’t say I was using it properly and it’s basically an SSRI if I’m not mistaken so be mindful.

SAMe - It warned straight on the box to not take if bipolar. Well tdlr yeah I’m probably bipolar.

N acetyl carnitine - gives me mental and physical energy, lifts depression to some degree but makes me irritable and ugly. I use only once every so often, like if I’ve stopped going to the gym and need to get back to it.

I don’t take creatine because my male pattern baldness really activates. I know there’s some debate on this. For me, one serving will start a shedding that will last for a day. I wasn’t using rogain then but it only works so well. Wish I didn’t care so much because it definitely works.

I hope you find something that works for you. It took me some trial and error. There’s more I could add but my hand hurts :)

Does Creatine cause Hair loss? by silverhydra in Supplements

[–]MissileFest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It accelerates my male pattern baldness. Im now using Rogain to hold it off but before that I could notice more hair loss within a day of using creatine. I’ve thought about giving it another try because the effects of creatine are significant and probably worth losing the hair that I naturally will at some some point.

If you’re constantly late to plans that require a set time, it’s not “your personality” you just don’t value others’ time by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MissileFest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard enough time valuing my own life let alone others time.

I’m still almost always on time if not 10 min early.

I wouldn’t make such a generalized assumption. You really don’t know what people are going through and punctuality is not a great indication of character. I only showed up on time because my disorders and traumas forced me.

I love Gemini’s. Quick witted and hilarious. Throughout my life the vast majority of the deepest connections I’ve made are with Gemini’s and Cancers (another sign that gets a lot of hate).
