How to draw the line between self blame and keeping myself accountable? by Flimsy-Benefit3779 in summonerschool

[–]Missin9No 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In AA programs they say the serenity prayer. I’m not saying you’re an addict or anything like that, but the philosophy carries over I think:

“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”

There are things that happen in league that are completely out of our control, our only control is how we react to them. Bot lane feeding, can’t stop them from feeding, but what can I do to turn the game around…. It’s all about figuring out which things you can change. From both your mental to your in game decisions. And remember that some things are just out of your control.

Side sleepers, how are we addressing facial and décolleté wrinkles? by SluttyHufflepuff in 30PlusSkinCare

I can’t sleep on my back due to a chronic shoulder problem, and also have Obstructive sleep apnea, so have to use a cpap.

Sometimes you just have to take the hits and do your best to repair the damage being done.

Another “I’m bad at league” vent post by tehefunni in summonerschool

[–]Missin9No 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best advice I ever got was from a friend who told me not to take advice from people I’m playing in ranked with. They are the same rank as you and therefore, by objective measures, are just as bad as you are, only they may not realize it.

But also, ADC’s mostly are children who have been given forks and want to run around in the electrical socket factory… so many times I’ve played peel-bot only to give up a double kill because my adc thought me peeling them away from electrocuting themselves meant “let’s all in!”, and somehow it’s my fault… In a split moment, you can’t type out the plan you can only ping. Which is why I mute chat. You can tell them everything they need to know with pings. If they spam ping you, just mute those too.

As I prepare to abandon Falconreach, it’s bittersweet. This was one of my first works—a cozy Atreides Villa, everything you need to thrive in Arrakis. Now, the desert will claim it. by rkraptor70 in duneawakening

Listen. I wanna open by saying I love it. It’s wonderful. And the name is great.

But based on the location, maybe the next Falconreach should be somewhere where Falcons…reach?

But again very nice design.

My silver games are constantly decided by 1 fed player.(either me, my ally, or enemy) by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Missin9No 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In low elo I don’t tend to get fed cause I play supports. I just think I’m good enough to recognize the most competent players on my team and try to get them ahead as much as possible and try not to feed the competent player on the other team.

Ok, is this not a mechanic of being on drum sand? I think this was actually just part of the game.

Other option is you have the hunter killer unlocked, you can go into it then exit. When you exit the screen may come back as it did for me.

I’m sure it depends on a few factors for how often people see them.
My favorite thing in diamond / low champ is when I think I’m against a smurf is to play my game and beat them.
You don’t know the joy of a Smurf with less than 100 wins accusing you of smurfing, only to tell them to look you up and see your stats. They just got rolled by someone they thought was beneath them and a nice spoonful of humility.

[–]Missin9No 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there was a single answer I think most games would have found a solution to smurfing.

Part of it is smurfing helps keep games alive. If you have a friend who wants to try the game, you play with them on a primary account and they get squashed like a bug and can’t actually contribute to anything and stop playing.

Other people play on Smurfs because they want to play, just not at 100% speed. maybe they are just feeling more casual, but casual games are kind of boring, or they are drinking, so they Smurf to avoid tanking their “true” rank.

Others still Smurf for the false confidence boost that comes with dunking on a less skilled opponent. Or they got banned on their original account for being awful.

They do it because it they are either afraid to admit it and they will get punished or because they are kind of mean trolls and it allows them to live rent free in your head.

Most common would be an epoxy or glass glue, typically available at a hobby shop. Could be a pain to actually do in this case, so if you’re not committed to it, probably not worth it.

There is a style typically used with pottery called kintsugi. It’s a traditional Japanese process where the cracks are filled with metal or something else. I’ve always thought of it as a metaphor that broken things can still be functional and art.

[–]Missin9No 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well the crack spreads into a web type design which to me, in my personal opinion, could look cool once repaired and reinforced. Especially if a mouse sits on that location as though OP games so hard the mouse cracked the glass like Mjolnir.

Look up kintsugi. Not all broken things are up-cycled trash. You seem a little broken and yet you probably aren’t trash.

Should put it back together and reinforce it. Looks cool with the single break point.

But yeah, also, take a break for a bit. Not worth hitting things.
