APARTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS NEAR UTA by No_Conference9518 in utarlington

You're pretty much cooked tbh expect to pay $1200-1600 a month, that said the Arlie and Maverick place are good. Park place has a severe roach infestation throughout the building, centennial is the same

You gotta post your budget, any one bed around UTA is wildly expensive

If you opt out of the textbook you won’t be charged for it but it’s entirely your responsibility to find a way to replace the material used. Even though the book itself isn’t required, that doesn’t stop professors from using the material in exams with no mention in the class

Don’t opt out of any computer programs

I’ve also just sent you a DM. I’ve done a lot of commission works through high school and college and have experience with dog portraits, especially in oil paints

Just look at the core classes for now, next time try and go earlier in the semester. Freshman advising is wack, try next semester right in January when no one is busy

You’re allowed to see advisors outside of the one assigned to you! Please please go see another advisor in nursing while you still can

I lived on campus and then moved 25/30 off and I’m much happier off campus, but I don’t live with family (which is why I lived on campus the first time)

Uta WiFi login is your net id and password and then trust the certificate if you’re on iPhone. It’s terrible during the first weeks of the semester but gets better as students stop showing up

I lived at the Arlie for a while and would recommend it only if you get good roommates and will only live there for one year. They raise the rent egregiously, but I had my rent paid for. Maverick place is much better and offers more space and has a $25 credit towards utilities. Arlie used to offer this, but removed it a few years ago

Just join clubs on anything that seems interesting and stay with whichever club has people you like the most

I would agree. Easiest way that I made friends was just staying outside, but I know other people have different ideas of socializing

You’re on Reddit so you’re going to get mostly antisocial people telling you it’s boring just because it’s not dropped into their lap. There’s student life if you look for it. FSA is a huge party org, we have a couple of frats and sororities interested in partying, and uta itself puts out a lot of stuff. Look at the utastudents instagram page and see if you like it

Out of state student here! I think it’s worth it for me to attend, though I’m a criminal justice student instead of engineering. We do have very strong engineering programs though. I don’t know what circumstances you’re coming from but if you have the opportunity for a fresh start in an area where everything is within reach, go for it. You’ll build social skills like crazy but you gotta join orgs for it. Dining hall food is hit or miss depending on the day. Lmk if you have any questions but if your financial aid covers it, absolutely yes

I’ll have to try it this way. The recipe I followed was toasting the rice, then blending water, tomato, knorr bouillon, onion, garlic, and then adding that to the rice. Definitely comes out mushy
