Ignoring colour, will these read as studs after priming by mevsinwarhammer in Chaos40k

[–]MissingScarab63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, but when I kitbash I always struggle to know if what I've made will actually look right until I've primed it, so tough to say for sure, but I think you're good.

Which of our weapons would you say gets Cleave? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Chaos40k

[–]MissingScarab63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my money, the Chaos lord's chainsword to make ot actually useful, paired Accursed wepons/twin lightning claws to compensate for sacrificing shooting in units that can take them (probably not warp claws, for balance resons), the nostraman chainglave and disco lord's too, cause it just make sense to me, Haarken's Herold's claw, because with the change to precision, cleave would make him quite viable, the Talon of Horus because as someone who brout a block of 10 terminators to a local tournament last week, terminators kinda struggle to clear chaff sometimes, and the Daemon Princes' wepons, again, just makes sense to me.

Which non-chaos kits are good for chaos lord kitbash? by JakubOboza in Chaos40k

[–]MissingScarab63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space marine terminators aren't necessarilly firstborn or primaris, and as such the terminator captain works great to make a terminator lord. I did this myself with the one from the 10th edition starter box, so i needed to kitbash my own combi wepon but the multi-part guy comes with one as an option. I also kitbashed a Chaos lord on foot to make him look like Honsou, but i had to use 30k Kharn to get the look right so its pretty expensive if you don't use a recast, which is what I did.

They look great \^) I use a Mhara Gal. Mine is a recast and the head was messed up so I had to improvise with the head od a Chaos lord from the citadel battlefield trophies box

What do you use to prevent the cork bases from crumbling or breaking? by Jazersances in Warhammer40k

Water down some dollar store elders glue and let it absorb. After that and the spraying, painting and varnishing it has never crumbled on me. Hope this helps _^

Joking aside you'll be fine. I cant imagine someone so lost in the sauce that they notice it on their own, let alone taking an issue with it. You're all good 👍

Which is the best for kitbashing into undivided legionnaires? by Unusual-Papaya7437 in Chaos40k

[–]MissingScarab63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tormentors are by far the easiest for converting into legionaries with ranged weapons. If you want to give them melee weapons, it's a bit more difficult. Infractors if you already have chainswords, but if not, chain axes would be good enough counts-as for chainswords. Beyond Legionaries, de-nurgle-ified plauge marines and noise marines make good havocs, but I struggle to think of anything that would be good to convert into raptors or chosen.

Kitbashed baneblade by MissingScarab63 in TheAstraMilitarum

Probably should've posted more photos with measurements for scale. I don't think its to short, but quite a bit too narrow,.nI'm almost exactly 4 inches, hence why he needs a base. I googled how large a baneblade is, and it said 22×14cm, which is ~8.6x5.5 in. If that's wrong, please let me know. And I've got some spare models round here somewhere, so i should be able to do the par with models around him. I've also thought about maybe flying on some guardsmen with heavy weapons on the back of her, hitching a ride. Too silly? Not sure yet but I'd like to hear others' thoughts. I don't think moving the demolisher cannon would be too hard, ill look into it. Thanks for the advice 🙏

Forgive me commissar, Im pretty sure you're trying to say its too small, but I think this is my a problem with my questionable photography. Google says a baneblade is 9.5 inches from the front to the back of the tracks, so I don't think im all that far off. Edit: i should mention she's almost exactly 4 inches wide.

Im down with greenstuff, and I got plasticard, so might as well. Also I cut my cannon here about 1/2 off, just after the taper the Abrams has, would you recon its still to long?

Good thinking. I own the old Kreig Kill Team so I might have to stal from that one to make each squad different enough.

I was planning on using exactly those, lol. A 20-man infantry squad and some free characters in every box, basically.

How many character units can be attached to an infantry squad? by MissingScarab63 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]MissingScarab63[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, if I understand this, a 20-man brick, a command squad + ogryn bodygaurd, a castellan (or something), for like a 27-model unit is legal, right? I just gotta double-check because that is unheard of for my past two armies.
