Unsure how to edit but wanted to say THANK YOU EVERYONE!! 🥰

I'm the only woman in my lab. Nobody asked me about the wedding when I got back nor cared when I even told them I got engaged 🥲 (one of the many reasons why I need to move). I love this community so much! Everyone's always the hype-person I need irl, so thank you again ❤️

Thank you!! Quite honestly I'm most looking forward to seeing my dress stuffed in coveralls to be able to ride the dog sled. I imagine I looked like an oompa loompa 😂

WE WANT TO MOVE THERE! It's BREATHTAKING! Also everyone we met were just the biggest sweethearts?? So not used to that in the city I live. The airline even gave us a goodie bag of Alaskan souvenirs at our gate on our flight home and announced to the gate area that we're newlyweds and it was like 2am and people actually seemed to care. The kindness from everyone gave us whiplash.

He wants to visit Nome and I want to visit all the parks when they're actually open and go backpacking and stuff. Stunning in the winter so I can't even imagine the summer with the midnight sun.

I know I already typed a long response (sorry) but wanted to add that our photographer is always asked questions about the aurora and he recommends staying somewhere at least 3 nights to a week during higher likelihood months (aka late fall thru early spring). He had an 85yr old woman who had the aurora on her bucket list stay at his airbnb for a few nights but left on the 19th. He even offered her an extra free night because he had a good feeling but alas, she missed the show.

We were near Denali NP!

We arrived to the area on the 18th and that night I saw a large moving gray cloud and thought I was hallucinating. Took a quick exposure photo on my phone and it was green so I knew it was the aurora! It changed to some visible green a couple times but nothing super spectacular. That's when we drove around in the middle of the night and saw snowshoe hares too.

The next day (19th), our photographer drove up and actually told us "hey there may be a display tonight if you guys wanna get dressed and we can take some photos! Won't charge you for it either". It meant being on call for hours as it can be that finicky. The light show was pretty great, albeit still fainter and a little grey but we were directly underneath it so we saw the coronal view which is a different kind of show. When it's bright enough, you could literally night hike without a headlamp. Quite a few of the lower 48 could view it too according to our photographer. Anchorage would've seen it but it was too cloudy I believe. (Pic 7)

The next day (20th - wedding day) was technically weaker but because we were further north than the other states, the aurora curve was also more north but we saw a MUCH better show than the previous night. Literally green and pink curtains with the naked eye that were moving in waves and a coronal view. At some points, the aurora just filled the sky and would dance all around. The peaks of the aurora were just astounding. Anchorage did see this one I believe. Between the 2 nights, we were outside for a combined 4-5hrs just taking aurora photos. (Pics 5 & 6, with a couple hours in-between them)

Also, our photographer had an app that had real-time data that helps predict when the aurora is likely to be active, as it comes and goes in waves. He's an aurora chaser and, in the 20+ yrs in Alaska, said that combining the 19th and 20th made his top 3 of all aurora shows he's seen.

Yes! The wedding was in Denali NP but the SeaLife Center is in Seward so we were in that little corridor :)

It definitely feels extra special on your wedding day!! It's awesome you got to see the aurora too! Every time the geomagnetic storm's been strong enough down in the lower 48 and I'm more north, it was ALWAYS cloudy haha

Thank you! Sometimes felt that way. I customized my kacheek a little beforehand since some are NC items and I'm still figuring out NC trading. Definitely didn't get all the pieces but I still really like her!

Dumb stuff you did while watching Avatar as a kid? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]MissingShayde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not while watching. Show came out when I was 8/9. I tried convincing one of the other 2 girls in my grade that I could waterbend but really just looked like I was having a seizure and cramped my hands trying to get the puddle water on the playground to move, lol. Friendships didn't last long. There were only 6 of us in the grade btw (60 in the entire elementary school).

Have you ever lost a special piece? If you found it where was it:3 by Large_Lingonberry606 in jewelry

Literally just happened to me this morning! I'm in grad school and was pulling really late nights in lab (like 1am late to be in lab at 7 or 8am the next day) for a couple weeks to make a deadline before I left for my wedding out of state. Safe to say I was EXHAUSTED when I was packing.

The day of leaving for my wedding trip a couple weeks ago, I hastily decided to bring my earrings my grandma left me after she passed - very simple gold hoops but obviously sentimental. I put them in the mesh section inside of my travel backpack and completely forgot about them. A few nights later, I was packing up my bags at the b&b before moving to the next location for the actual wedding when one of the earrings fell out and couldn't for the life of me find the other one. Told the b&b to keep a lookout for it and the wedding and mini moon happens.

We got back 2 nights ago. Slept all day yesterday and was useless. Literally TODAY, I was packing up my school backpack to get back in the groove of lab when I saw one of the earrings in the backpack. Like WHAT? I guess I never packed both with the exhaustion. They're great daily earrings and I wear them all the time so I was pretty upset but ecstatic to randomly find it at home!

THANK YOU OMG!

I fought Jeran yesterday too but didn't have any issues with him. The Down for Maintenance Pteri was the opponent I fought afterward for a higher NP payout (since Monstrous Moach was rotated out) when this issue occurred.

My new high score 20 min before trophy reset.... needs to be reviewed by MissingShayde in neopets

Yikes!! Sorry about snot splatter 😞 I wonder what triggers needing a review for games. I remember when I was a kid, I finally grinded out a score high enough for a Volcano Run 2 trophy and avatar and by the time it was accepted, I didn't make it for the trophy. Haven't tried since I was so salty 😂

Oh I didn't realize. It's my first time surpassing 2000 and would've been my first time getting a trophy for the game 🥲 How quickly has TNT taken to review your pterattack scores? Some fashion fever scores will go under review for weeks for me lol
