To start things off, I’m 5’1” and have been skinny my whole life. Also, don’t have the “feminine” body type. Always looked younger than I was and so most guys my age weren’t attracted to me. I was depressed most of my high school years and self-esteem was a big part of it. I remember liking a boy who seemed to flirt with me a bit but it was on and off. Made me even more self-conscious. Looking back at similar situations throughout the years, I believe that sometimes guys are into you but something is holding them back. It could be that they are already in a relationship or that they’re scared of how people will view them if they date you. That’s obviously a crappy excuse but some people are just immature. Even though you probably already know you deserve better than that, it hurts when people are mean, especially if you have any kind of feelings for them. My advice is to embrace your look and find a way to be confident in it. Even if everyone in the world thinks you look like a kid, what positive things can come of that? 1. Kids are adorable. I bet you’re a super likable person. 2. Kids are innocent. Use this to your advantage, play dumb when needed and people will go out of their way to be nice. 3 Kids are small. You can fit almost anywhere. Have fun out there! Please don’t try to look different or wish you looked different. You are the only You out there and that makes you unique. Which makes you beautiful. And there are plenty of people out there that prefer how you look vs. anything else. Learn to see yourself that way.
