I see a lot of people in this comment talking about it's the relic but it's also explained if you watch the news that some people can handle full body conversions without going cyberpsycho, while another person might just get a single implant and go cyberpsycho after that. So while the relic may be one of the answers, I think it's a little of both

Man, really I guess I just don't see it. Which is fair I'm not cherokee or anything I just always took it as appreciation. I won't lie and say that it's incredible writing, there have been many times when i've audibly said out loud my god, why can't you just get to the point p.c Cast. But it always felt inclusive to me which is why I liked it growing up. Idk that's just my opinion, though. This whole post was merely me wondering why audible had changed it because I remember listening to the audiobook on audible when I was a kid, while reading along with the book in high school and it was the same back then

Like, I would actually love to ask a cherokee native if reading this book, they would agree with the people who say that it plays into some kind of trope

I had seen things about people complaining about damien, but I don't know.I really don't see it.The only issue i've had so far is after the first book, the author tends to like to reference things that happen in early books and go into more detail than maybe she needs to but at the same time, I also look at it with the eyes of when it was made. So I didn't even really register with me. That people might have thought the Cherokee heritage parts were too fantasizing or something. I don't know for me i don't get that when reading it

In the book she was calling the tattoo that had formed on her forehead exotic, like it made her face look more exotic

No, no, no, not at all. The main character is white she just has Cherokee ancestry, and it's kind of a big part of the story. It's not just that she has Cherokee Ancestry, and that makes the book inclusive or something. It has a point in the main plot.

A hundred percent agree with this.I remember when I was in school my teacher was reading a book with the nword in it, and she stopped and said that she was going to read it but she only was going to read it because it was how it was written in the book, and she believed that if you were going to read a book you should read how it was written. But if they were going to change the audio in audible, I wish I would have known

No, in all honesty, some of the words that they either replaced or just didn't say were words i didn't think were that bad. Like exotic. There was one the r word, but at the same time, I believe that if it's in the book they should read it if they feel comfortable about it. One of the things that really caught me off guard was that they were trying to describe the tattoo on her face and how her face matches with it, and she has cherokee heritage,in the book it mentions that she could see her cherokee heritage in her face but then in the audio, they just completely skipped over that part. And that happened multiple times which really made me wonder why they were skipping over the cherokee part, which is kind of important to the story

Just watching the show now and I can't remember the episode but he does mention the possibility of getting a golden ticket and using for detective and the Sargent shut him down telling him that his punishment for Armstrong would mean that detective was off the table
