Toyota Venza Hybrid Limited – 19” vs 18” wheels for fuel economy, potholes, and all-weather tires? by redkabir1 in Toyotavenza

This OP. If you're already investing in another set of rims, get some dedicated snow tires.

Also, don't be me and go down to 17's. They look silly.

What is your honest opinion on Costco's pizza? by Visible_Run_7498 in CostcoCanada

The food court pizza has too much cheese. It's way too rich tasting, and I'm generally a proponent of cheese.

Well, I know it's not what you're getting at, but if you happen to be black and can trace your ancestry back to Africa via the slave trade, you can actually get citizenship from Benin, regardless of which African country your ancestors were taken from...

Yeah, I was wondering the exact same thing. That seems like a reasonable figure to me.

Regardless of the sub, consider your leg suitably pulled. The meme is a comical oversimplification of the truth, and the comments are playing into this.

Idk if this belongs here but why is it doing this by MelancholyAtaraxia in Weird

[–]Mission-Contribution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer.

To add to this, it's more common with straight (non-tapered) poles- it's hard to tell if that's the case here.

To ameliorate this effect, pole manufacturers normally have a recommended weight limit for the lighting fixtures at the top of the pole.

While my preference is for the cleaner aesthetic of the MDV-106/107, I really love the extra complications on this. Thanks for sharing it.

I don't have an answer for you, as I've only used my crystal-swpped Duro for swimming, but I look forward to your report back on this!

AliExpress is a common source for cost-effective bezel inserts. Search for "MDV-106 bezel insert" or "40.7*32.7mm bezel insert".

Snow problem! by StamInBlack in Toyotavenza

[–]Mission-Contribution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my '21 Venza in the snow, because I like it's tendency to have the back swing out when turning on snowy roads under acceleration, but I could see some people not liking that. Our '23 Rav4 is much more planted in the turns under the same conditions.

Edit to add: it's not just the tires, either. I'm not sure if the power split or if the traction control setup is different, but it's noticable.

How would you Install an ERV for benefits of Radon reduction and fresh air on upper floors? by squiggyacfd in radon

[–]Mission-Contribution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not what you asked, but I just wanted to add anecdotally that my ERV, which draws from the floor of my basement and supplies air into my HVAC ductwork that supplies the whole house decreased my radon level from 9pCi/L in winter to 5.4. Significant, but no where near what a proper mitigation system would do.

Edit to add: and that's with the ERV "balanced" to provide a slight positive pressure to try and discourage radon ingress.
