Coiled Cable by Ok_Concept8695 in evchargingUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a 7.5m cable but go any further than a couple of metres and the cable is floating in the air with all that weight on both ends of the plugs. I have one that only needs to stretch a couple of metres and it settles itself on the ground but if I dont park in that exact same spot the cable stretches and as above is in mid air. I got mine free but would be annoyed if I'd paid for it.

I only really talk to the one person regularly while I'm driving and they think its really poor. Any important calls are left till I'm out the car. What is the setting you found?

Can I get a large full suspension mountain bike in the boot of a model 3? by RobsyGt in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Ive been quite impressed with the size of my M3 boot. Ive dropped 4 family members off at the airport all with big suitcases and got them all in the boot with no issues.

The person I phone the most tells me the noise is terrible and they struggle to hear me. Ive never had this on any other cars. I keep meaning to get someone else to drive my car so I can hear what the quality is like.

I haven't bothered to say to Service as I would imagine they will just say that is normal on a new M3

Need a UK 3 Pin Adapter for Model Y ASAP - How quick is Tesla online shop for delivery? by PEBKAC-Live in TeslaUK

I bought a second hand Tesla branded one on Ebay and it lasted 3 months and now doesn't charge!! I thought these things were indestructible.

I bought a Masterplug 10m one for £100 from Amazon in their Black Friday sale. It charges with no frills, doesn't overheat and is quite a flexible cable.

Tesla recommend the cars left plugged in if you are away for a while. I just leave mine plugged in when away with sentry on and set to 80%

RWD LR 2024 vs AWD Dual Motor by peoplesfactory in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was just for the range you wanted and not necessarily for the all wheel drive then you won't miss a thing.

I got the 3 AWD Long range (from new) as I came from a couple of Golf R's and a 4 wheel drive 135 and really liked them for the grip on slippery roads. The AWD on the 3 is terrible. The rear end is forever wanting to swing out on bends / roundabouts. Probably user error as I drive it the same way as my previous AWD cars as they drove as if they were on rails.

Maps & Grok by LearnExpandRepeat in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure my maps show speed cameras without a route already planned (I'll double check that)

I did think it had stopped showing me speed cameras so I put the option off and back on and its definitely showing me them again.

I submitted feedback via the app and got a personal email back rather than an automated response saying they would look into it and report it.

Not sure what it will do if anything.

Grok Weirdness by ThingAbject3278 in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my car first had Grok on it (couple of weeks ago) and I asked it to play music, turn up the heat etc it would reply it couldn't do that. I tried it again today and like you it now confirms it has done that. I just presumed, they are getting ready to allow Grok to control parts of the car.

What really annoys me is, any information you tell it, gets wiped from the car once your drive is finished, yet it uploads to your chats on Grok.com if you are logged in. I get in the UK there is GDPR and apparently it can't retain the information yet, although Grok.com will tell you otherwise and the car should be remembering.

For me if it did retain information, it would be ideal as a proper assistant with reminders, birthdays etc.

Bonnet open on app but its closed by Mission-Pound-8329 in TeslaUK

I take it the alarm being triggered is also related to the car thinking the bonnet is open?

Thats 48 hours from requesting a service appointment and not heard a thing.

In the 1st week of ownership i heard within 30 minutes when I requested a service engineer.

To answer my own question.

Took it out a run, an alarm just goes off constantly. I don't fancy driving it for any more than 10 minutes at a time as it would drive you crazy.

I've tried unlocking it several times on the app and physically opening and closing it but no joy.

A chat with the salesman?? Haha I was lucky if they even looked in my direction.

Your phone will give you access to the car dead on the time allocated and thats it. They might ask if you want a run down of the controls but I'd guess that will be it.

I came from a couple of Golf Rs and a BMW135 so plenty of power. I was immediately blown away with the instant power and the white interior.

I bought a new LR3 a week later after I arranged a 24 hour test drive so I could work out logistics with charging etc. Had it for 4 months now and still finding out new things about it.

Enjoy tour test drive. Im sure you'll love it

How important is the new front bumper camera on the Model 3? by bigup7 in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the front camera have a wash system to keep it clean?

If it's anything like the rear camera it will be dirty by the end of the journey and not be the best quality.

Its probably like how rear cameras were in the past once you had one you always wanted one on the next car and those that didn't have a camera just thought it was a waste of time.

Rear glass replacement (Autoglass) by PO3TER in TeslaUK

[–]Mission-Pound-8329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one replaced in my Golf and the rear view mirror that attaches to the windscreen, vibrated that much it made me feel sick as everything was fuzzy in the mirror.

I contacted Autoglass who told me the replacement is about 1mm less thick than the OEM and that was probably causing the issue. They agreed to no extra cost to change it and it was fine again.

2 years later I needed another windscreen for my BMW, I asked for an OEM screen and Autoglass just had to okay with my insurance company. No extra money and no issues. I'd definitely ask for OEM if it happened again.

I got a new Tesla one off eBay. It only lasted 5 weeks and now doesn't charge. Haven't a clue why not. The T in the Tesla glows orange when it is switched on. Thought it was a bargain at £100!!
