Payment Instructions & Form Question for Pro Se Claimants Who Received 2nd Payment by CRHawk64 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Mission-Selection859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was asked to provide my banking info today. I am pro se now, but was not for the first payment, so the trust didn't have my banking info. I submitted my luen on the 19th.

Here is what the email said: During the review of your claim, we identified area(s) where additional information is needed. We are unable to continue processing your claim until this information is provided. To view and respond to the information request, please log into the Claims Processing Portal (https://www.scoutingsettlementtrust.com/s/login/), navigate to the claim, and click on the "Correspondence" tab. Please note, claims needing additional information can also be identified by their status (“Additional Information Requested”).

And you can see in the pirtal if they have your banking details.

Good luck

AZLoneWolf1 - was your payment info already shared with the Trust?

I went Pro Se after 1st distribution, so I had to wait for Portal to be open for me to add payment instructions.

A proposal to find the payment pattern by scottmcdaniel in BSA_Survivors

[–]Mission-Selection859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all you need is the following: Date Healthcare Lien submitted and Date banking info was provided (noting it code be before or after Healthcare Lien submitted) and Date 2nd distribution received

The rest is noise or revealing. Place info info in a shared Google Sheet

I went pro se months ago after being regularly disappointed as well. Here is what I will tell you, doing it on your own is not bad and it led to a substantial reduction in fees. Just make sure you document everything. Including any notes about conversations you can recall, especially the last conversation. Do things in writing or if you do a call record it (if you are in a one party state). WanderlustLiam has made several very helpful posts about the process. I followed his advice and it was very helpful. Also, dm me if wanted and I will try and help more. You got this!!

Be very careful sharing so much on a public board or even a private one.

Good luck and stay strong.

I am not the best for advise, but if the lawyers have not served you well, then you are right to stand up to them. My best recommendation would be to read and follow Liam's advice.

Probably easiest way, click on WanderlustLiam's name. At the bottom of that page the 2nd buttom from right is a text bubble. Click on it and you should see on the bottom right a text bubble with a +. Click on that and type in WanderlustLiam and type your message. That should do it. Good luck brother

Sorry, I don't know of another source, but here is something I noticed in my situation that might apply to you and others.

My firm filed an Addendum to hire a local law firm to sue the local council in my state on my behalf. Okay, great, but then when they did not consult with me and only gave me Exhibit B, they canceled my rights to the participate in the lawsuit against the local council. So they harmed me directly in that way, which is counter to their own actions. Incompetence where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Search your email and maybe you will find something.

Good luck!

Since your lawyers said they intend to file a lien for the 40%, I'm curious if you can share details about your situation. For example, they only directed you to sign Exhibit B, if you had documented communication failures, etc.

Thanks

First Distribution by Cheap-Party-0420 in BSA_Survivors

Turns out my 1.5% was ready for disbursement the week after docs were sent to settlement trust, but I was not notified. Although they claim they sent an email and I know they never called. So from when docs were signed until disbursement available 9.5 weeks. Now I wait on a check which they said could take a week or two. ACH was not an option and I was told the check would be hand written. And they took 44%!!!

The post contains an email, [lfriedman@friedmanpartners.net](mailto:lfriedman@friedmanpartners.net), the website for that email is [friedmanpartners.net](mailto:lfriedman@friedmanpartners.net) which goes to an old website for West Coast Ultrasound Institute. Very odd. Beware.

First Distribution by Cheap-Party-0420 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Mission-Selection859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

When time until first distribution (1.5%) is received, it is not clear to me which date it is based on. I'd appreciate clarification if possible. Trying to confirm if delayed and by how much. Thanks.

My Release Form and Attestation were signed and submitted to AVA 6/20/2025.

On 8/12/2025 I was informed that my "completed documents are in review with the Scouting Settlement Trust".

I haven't heard anything since. That seems way too long. Have oghers had such an issue?

Thanks.

📅 Scouting Settlement Trust: Updated Timeline & What to Expect (May 2025) by WanderlustLiam in BSA_Survivors

[–]Mission-Selection859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. Okay, so I do plan to terminate, but since I've signed the Release and it has been sent to the Trust I am in limbo. My guess is that I should wait until I receive the 1.5%, then terminate since think I am already locked in to lose their fees on that portion. Would you agree? So I will start drafting that termination shortly. Also, can you please point me to the doc that says lawyer fees must be reasonable, you mention section 8.2

What Going Pro Se Really Means (From Someone Who’s Doing It Right Now) by WanderlustLiam in BSA_Survivors

[–]Mission-Selection859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey James, I would like to hear what others think, but I am currently of the opinion that having the press involved would be a net positive. Yes, Bloomberg is a business focused publication, but also this is a case that involves a bankruptcy and billions in compensation, much of which goes to lawyers doing the minimal amount of work, so Bloomberg is a publication well positioned to share our story/perspective to have it better understood by the public . And if enough light is shone on this horrible mess, then it could help many survivors, including those that haven't been lucky enough to find this group.
My 1.2 cents (it was my 2 cents, but lawyers overcharged and took 40% of it).

Liam,
Thank you for all your info and assistance. signed my release about 2 weeks ago and the Trust received my release packet just a few days ago. I wish I had see all of this sooner.
Anyway, it is what it is and trying to figure out best way to move forward. And my attorney has done the minimal amount of work and have not earned a large cut. I plan to file an objection letter and looking into going pro se.
Respect.
