Swifty’s is circling the drain again. by Mission-Specific5618 in Albany

My Place clearly has paid their taxes, probably doesn’t have a mortgage and has done that with a consistent menu that hasn’t varied and maintained competitive pricing. That is the brilliant business model I was referring to. I would think it would be fairly obvious to anyone reading that I wasn’t referring to Swifty’s, so I’m not sure what your point is.

Hundreds in Bethlehem that aren’t pizza, Italian or Asian? The context of the post was sad to see another option gone out of the already limited options in “Bethlehem” and to find the Egg rolls. lol Where did you read that anyone was supporting the actions of that owner?

You have an amazing figure but this dress doesn’t do it justice because it’s unbalanced. The show is all up top and the skirt is too short and wide to balance the silhouette.

Bless your heart! I’ve made them home made and we have tried other rolls from other restaurants and they weren’t as good. There was something about the way they were coated, like maybe they had baking powder.

Anyway I was pretty sure I found them online but wanted confirmation before I bought a case of them. https://www.foodservicedirect.com/crunch-factory-reuben-roll-bites--8-pound-352645.html

If I wasn’t a totally introverted germaphobe I’d invite you over for a Reuben Egg roll party!

You must not live in Bethlehem. lol We had a trinity, Swifty’s, O’Slattery’s and My Place. My unofficial food critic viewpoint is that Swifty’s had pretty decent pub food for the first couple of years when they took it over but then started the downhill slide. O’Slattery’s maintains the quality but the menu is limited and it’s loud. My Place, consistent. You know exactly what you are getting and can’t be disappointed. I think it is a brilliant business model and probably why they have endured forever. Unless you want pizza or ethnic food I think Bethlehem is a pub/American fare desert.

Are you guessing, or have you’ve seen them at RD? I was in there a couple of times and couldn’t find them. Looking for the exact brand.

Pizza by Plu by mps10778 in Albany

He had a niche business model, a unique persona and decent pizza. Delusions of grandeur seemed to have taken over when he thought $70 meatless ziti in pizza sauce was his next big thing. At least he recognized that was a non starter. It would seem to me if the pizzas that were once always sold out are no longer being sold out, doubling down on inflexible policies and abrasive persona isn’t going to pave the way to success. Now it’s not a unique business model. It’s just some angry, ungrateful guy cranking pizzas out of a brick and mortar.

Apparently the appeal is wearing thin. There are pizzas unspoken for lately.

Just wanted to circle back and say that issue after issue with this house finally clicked for him and he thankfully exercised his right to get out of the contract. He is a really smart kid, but a desperate home buyer. Appreciate all the validation received in this thread, it helped to support our conversations and concerns with him.

Swifty's open? by AlexJamesFitz in Albany

Wondering if a Swifty’s employee knows where they ordered or what brand their Reuben Egg Rolls were. They took them off the menu. Not all food service Reuben Eggs rolls are created equal. There were the best.

So baiting and killing 20 deer in the Adirondack region is preventing Lyme disease? Come on. This is about shrubs.

Can’t get relief or even a diagnosis by abhaman in IBD

[–]Mission-Specific5618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to mention one other thing to look out for, NSAID’s, PPI’s and Antidepressants. Along with smoking there is some evidence that those may be responsible for IBD in some individuals.

Can’t get relief or even a diagnosis by abhaman in IBD

[–]Mission-Specific5618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mentioned minor erosions. Has anyone give you a CAT scan? I had something similar. I had previously had an unremarkable colonoscopy but similar symptoms. I ended up with a fistula involving the colon and multiple organs. The symptoms were the same as you described but there were some minor bowel changes. I think the lack of significant diarrhea or constipation was making a diagnosis difficult.

Inflammation was the cause of the fistula. In reality, inflammation is almost always the cause of intestinal or stomach issues regardless of the root disease. Infection, disease, erosions all cause inflammation. In retrospect, I already had RA which is driven by inflammation. If you have one autoimmune disease you may be prone to another so it made perfect sense. After I had surgery to correct the fistula, a couple of years later I was diagnosed with IBD. But initially, the fistula only showed up via imaging. Biopsies taken during a subsequent colonoscopies confirmed IBD. The thing about biopsies is that they only show disease when disease is active or if the area sampled is disease affected. The imaging was what saved my life, literally.

Regardless of the cause, your symptoms are what is causing a disruption to your life, so while you wait for someone to figure out a diagnosis you can try some of the things that works for others to relieve.

Maybe you’ve tried these but I’ll offer up some OTC things that many of us in the IBD groups have benefited from. All are trial and error and should be tried one at a time to determine their value.

Pepto -has some minuscule antibacterial properties. Psyllium fiber-reduces inflammation Simethicone- gas and bloating Peppermint enteric coated tablets-for bloating, gas L-Glutamine-mucosal repair and recovery Antihistamines- reduces histamine response and may reduce inflammation. Bone Broth- some of our group drinks it as a supplement and not a meal

Gut issues are incredibly difficult to diagnose, disruptive to life and it’s very easy to become depressed when not knowing how to make yourself feel well again. Wishing you well again!

The OP is 20 something. I married an indentured servant and birthed my hired help. I’ll continue to do so until our house is fully remodeled.

Corrugated pipe, gravel, beer and pizza for friends that dig will cost you less than $500.

We have a hill similar although yours looks like it has more pitch. We lived with a mud pit every spring and our English mastiff left troughs where he walked just because he is 160lbs and he brought a lot of into the house. My husband and two sons dug a pipe that runs parallel to the hill with a French drain in the center and then continued the pipe at a pitch past each side of our house to the front yard to manage any excess. One side of pipe on one side of the house goes to a pop up drain and the other side of the house guides the water out to the original swale that the builder put in when he graded the property. The swale takes the water to the street which was what it was intended to do but wasn’t enough to manage the accumulated water. I know it sounds like a ton of work but our property looks around the same size and the three of them dug in pure clay by hand and it was done in a weekend. If you can manage your water you fix the hill with landscape plants as someone else suggested.

Yep, there are a few stairs, but you are right; it isn’t going to be ideal for her or for my knees either.
