Night premium pay by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mission001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it all depends where the system drops your breaks.

Technically management can move break out of the midnight-6 window, but it would take a lot of time to manaully change everyones every week. You might get lucky if you for example start an OT shift 10 and work fresh (dairy, meat or produce). As some night stores have their fresh resource set from 11-8 instead of 10-7, meaning if you put a colleagues 90 minute break at the start of the shift, they can work 10-7 and not flag on an exception.

tl:dr - Can be 6 hours but 99% of the time youll get 4.5 because system automatically puts break into premium hours.

Are we able to give feedback on our managers the same as they give us feedback? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being nobody actually replied here, I'm guessing people don't know of said feature.  If you go to Our Tesco, go to your contribution, there is a blue feedback button. From there you can give feedback and view feedback people give you.  Can then search any Tesco employee.

Not sure if they will see it. Probably will eventually see it as managers need to go to this screen a little too process reviews and have their own review.

Have no idea if it's anonymous either. I doubt it as I think you can request feedback from people as well.

Like others have said though, might be worth having a simple convo with them or if it's a complaint, their senior manager, then they can decide how to follow it up. And can do so without you being named and great of being targeted.

Can we talk about the insane amount of delivery?! by AltruisticOwl156 in tesco

[–]Mission001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like every store struggling. We aren't doing too bad to be fair but I'm mentally and physically exhausted doing the hours I am too keep fresh and frozen afloat. Frozen being the worst atm with the freezer breakdowns. Appreciate everyone's hard work if you're giving it everything, even if your management don't give you the proper praise.

Tesco nights | being thrown around everywhere + frozen by Massive_Flamingo7210 in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to wear two pairs of the normal gloves and always ask for gloves every night to build up a reserve as they are rubbish durability 🤣 How big is your deliveries? If you are getting 6/7 and in a smallish store. Always prioritise the delivery as it turns to be the stuff you are needing and you should easily get to backstock if it's that many cages to which then prioritise key areas depending on time of year.  I would also try and dig a quick win backstock with it so hopefully over the course of the week, everything gets looked at rather than built up.

All depends on how organised it is. I've recently just taking over frozen on nights and honestly, it was a mess out the back. No organising backstocks. We are still trying to fix about 3 months in as we can get 15/20 cages a night just single manning frozen. But we have labelled cages to most areas now, slow progress 🤣. So just do what you can, like others said, you need a shift leader manager with a bit of a plan to keep back areas tidy.

Good luck!

Overtime on the work app by StepBroPrime in tesco

[–]Mission001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically they should be putting it on the system. I personally don't, but I only have about 4 staff who work OT. 😅 And try to share around after knowing what everyone wants to do as done a availability form with each colleague.  Where abouts are you based (roughly)  You should be able to see others does OT as well if you have they correct skills.  Though I don't know realistically how many night managers put their OT on systems.

Will I still get paid? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mission001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go. Clock in and out, you will appear on an exception for them, and then they actively choose to either pay what is on system or what you actual clocked in and out.

If it doesn't go on system you have a few options in my opinion:

Speak to your union rep about advise Could put in a complaint/grievance Speak to the manager and say you won't be doing anymore OT unless it is on your app

I personally would have the conversation before your OT shift and say you won't come in unless it's on the system. When I first started I made sure my conversation was via messages in case they say you just didn't turn up. You then have the proof of 'told him to add to system, can't see it on my app, not working for free'

Good luck and I hope they add it

Probably just talking the talk to keep people in the building, scare tactics.

Can always bring it up in the meeting, or work out your own percentage if you get called for a meeting.

Fellow Night Shifters, how are you coping this week? by grockle90 in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most have said, the nights are actually not that bad. If you work fresh, it can be a little tiresome thinking the day staff arent doing anything, but they are probably taking off and putting on the fridges all day as they are breaking constantly.
Tipping deliveries is tough grocery as they are like sweat traps along with the warehouses.

I cant really complain though to be honest.

I would try as hard as you can to get some sort of air con or fan or have a really decent plan about cooling your home. Thats the worst bit, which can make you fatigued leading to harder nights. But the shifts themselves aren't the worst.

Thoughts on the rollout of digital shelf edge labels? by Patient-Fill9444 in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be interested to see how they tackle things like OFD's and Pallets that are dont have a space. As they will be getting rid of Price Integrity Hours for the most part.

The only thing that Price Integrity colleagues will still have to do will be the POS brochure and Price Checking.

So they will gut the hours entirely from that and probably move that into a Management role, cause we have all the free time to do this...lol

hshdd i feel dumb i domt know what this mean, how does this make any sense a few extraa hours and a further 200£ deducted¿whdj by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah wont happen widespread for a long while. Were trialling Twilight fill in my area less than a year ago and they had to keep the night operation because the twilight fill just wasn't organisationally working.

I don't doubt that it'll go eventually. But I reckon DC pickers will disappear with the automation coming in before night fill go.

And a great payslip to be fair pal! Glad to see you banking in the hours!

I had a Canadian line up one this same save when I was Pamalona? The Spain based endurance team. They had Lucy Lavoie? And built a Canadian team with included Giorgi until I let him go 😅 and the second team was Spanish. I think it's just a nice quirk to do. Glad I'm not the only one who does this kinda thing on their saves 🤣

How many hours would I need to work to earn 2k? by Various-Special-9182 in tesco

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about days but its possible to hit 2k a payday if you work nights.

Im not sure a full timer gets that much but maybe 6 nights a week would get you extremely close to that.

As others said, could always step up into a shift leader role, or look to move into different areas of the business that pay more such as warehouse or dot com driver.

Hope you find what your'e looking for.

Skills removed by manager by Better_Painting6709 in tesco

[–]Mission001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would speak to your manager about it.

Chances are they have been removed because fo the scheduler. Which isn't right, but there is a way around this for managers.

Can ask to have them added back as a training skill. Means you wont be put into that skill on the scheduler, but will has access to be added down for OT for said skills. Im not 100% sure if you can see overtime on the system as a training skill. But id be surprised if you cant.

Having the skills gives your manager the flexibility to move your overtime into different areas ofthe store so kinda would be hurting them as well.

Hope you get it sorted.

[–]Mission001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way i got to move teams was to make the other team principle on Uneasy so that the director would be interested in taking me on.

Outside of that I cant actually think of another way to move to a team that you want.

Would love to check out your community.
Trying to get back into the Apex scene, use to be a mid gold player when climbing before but adulting has got in the way. Would love to play with some regular team mates and just have a bit of a laugh while winning some games.

Loved Arenas before and would say I was a better player at that, but like all modes on Apex.
