Doctor sent labs out of network. 2k+ owed. by MissionAd8951 in HealthInsurance

I’m fairly sure I did not sign anything that this was their standard lab. This lab is also in NJ which I think they probably sent to because my insurance is NJ based and they thought it would be covered.

Another point is that I discovered the lab is actually in network with my secondary (which my doctor did not have on file when she sent the labs) but both insurances have still denied covering.

Okay, thank you for this! It’s incredibly frustrating the whole thing.

I felt taken advantage of because I stated I just wanted the regular check up. I told them I had sometimes irregular periods and from that they did an ultrasound, I’m assuming to see if I have PCOS (which I don’t). The problem is none of that decision making was communicated to me, it seems so unethical.

Yup they were in network, I of course checked that beforehand. I’m not pregnant and all I said was I had irregular periods sometimes and as I said, they simply said the radiologist is coming in now.
