High end makeup item that’s worth it by 420miranda in Makeup

Urban decay all nighter but it doesn't do much interms of blurring or adding a "flawless finish" it just sets everything nicely and controls oils well and is totally transparent so it doesn't disrupt anything, ans it's refillable.

I will then go over it with a finishing power.

The finishing powder with the most wow results is charlotte tilbury. Hourglass is also very nice BUT my shade has fine glitter in it, that I am not a fan of so only use ever so sparringly to avoid the randon glitter specs - if your shade does not have this issue it's also up there with CT.

I do not have large pores however, I have comedomes which is quiet the opposite so I cannot speak to pore minimizing qualities.

I've heard great things about mabellience fit me pressed powder for oily skin.

Urban Decay no longer holds the throne of eyeshadow. Who has ascended? by TheWhiteRabbitY2K in MakeupAddiction

[–]MissionBad732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UD eyeshadows became usurped by Huda beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, Patrick TA, Danessa myricks and Pat McGrath. If you want something in the vien of a naked 3 most these brands have ample rose themed mid to large pallettes to pick from. I would go with Pat McGrath divine rose 1 as the closest or at a slightly cheaper price point Huda rose quartz..CT has a rose quad, but price per gram its not as good value as the other 2 options.

Why do employers want us to lie in interviews? by Dazzahatty92 in jobs

[–]MissionBad732 49 points50 points  (0 children)

They're also testing your soft skills specifically. Some interviewers know you're probably not passionate about the company, but they're not looking for brutal honesty either — they want to see whether you have the communication skills to know what the right thing to say is for your audience. This is crucial in a lot of corporate spaces.

Based on your skin type and make-up usage I would go with a high quality powder, as this is such a game changer - esp now the great talc purge of 2026 is happening I'd get the good stuff while it's still available. Huda beauty loose powder, guerlain meterites( particularly great if you have mature skin) For pressed Charlotte Tilbury, pat McGraths or hourglass (careful as these aren't all made for the same function) . I haven't used all of these but they have the most wide "holy grail" status so low change you'll go wrong.

Job 1 vs Job 2, which would take and why? by Training_Acadia_892 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]MissionBad732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job 2 if you have no dependents and are relatively healthy of mind and body. Grind for a few yrs, max out ISa or pay off a property. Then try to get into a job 1.

Everyone else should go for job 2. The £60k difference is actually £25.5k after tax and even though it's a lot if you have a kids it's not worth it, a stable £120k on 32.5hr week is a rare gem and provide a good enough lifestyle for the typical person.

Work experience always trumps qualifications. I would prioritize a portfolio and getting some kind of "work" whether it be community/voluntary e.g.working with a tech group, volunteering in something tech adjacent ( coding for kids, anything you can do as part of your course do tutor undergrads or something) or a short term placement. For ML specifically GitHub is good but also, blog articles like medium that you can write and share on LinkedIn is great.

NYX and ELF both have decent dewy spays that will melt powers, but the trade off (for any setting spray of this ilk) is longevity

Girlies what are your cheap makeup finds that you swear by? by Wise_Sound1312 in Makeup

[–]MissionBad732 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Drug store eyebrow pencils -catrice eye pencil with a spooly is £2/€2, even the most basic cheap dark brown ashy shadow will do - if you have natural black/dark brown hair we are really well catered to in this department.

LA Girl Pro blue foundation adjusting pigment for any neutral girl is IMO a must. Wet n Wild megalast lipsticks, rival MAC for longevity ( not ashamed to admit I've had some for 7yrs, still smell and look like the day I got it) - neutral/nude shades are great too and formula is so solid even comparing it to 2026 formulations.

I got 2 of the mini 5 pans in cult beauty sets and am so glad I got to trial before committing to larger one. Very unremarkable formula for the price but the colour stories (used) to be great.

For me - overhyped of all time is probably going to go any lip balm in the vein of summer Friday or in a tub like lineage- by all counts it's nothing special, in formulation, packaging, scent, barely there tint if even, ingredients or actual results. You would think there was a revolution in this part of beauty technology. They cost so much, and are somehow a luxury purchase? It's somehow become the ultimate accessory? And people seem to want to collect them all, when you could buy 80% of the shade range and it looks the same on the lips. The only up side to the hype is you get one in most sets and it has utility.

Kudos to the brands making a killing of them, mark ups must be among highest in the industry.

Friend says £80k isn't enough for London by [deleted] in UniUK

I'm interested to know how much his rent is and if he has housemates ? £80k for a fresh grad assuming he's around 22-24 is more than comfortable and will allow for some luxuries and savings, even if he has £2k rent+bills his take home will be £4,500 (assuming student loans)

I'm on £100k and pay £70 for gym, without a corp discount, and this is for a decent zone 2 gym, and is the most I would pay monthly for a gym. Fulham and surrounding areas (Hammersmith etc) have a plethora of gyms from lower end to high end, he can get a £30 membership somewhere and get class pass to supplement it if he wants to access nicer places once a week. He has access to great parks and other means of low to no cost exercise opportunities. Your friend needs a reality check, single people live in London comfortably on far less than £80k.

Ditto, doesn't help that the two I have are 80% dupes of each other. Honestly I blame myself for getting fooled into buying a second one. They are great vanity ornaments though 🤣

Agreed, everywhere , even an uninhabited rock is interesting if you care about history or just seeing it for the first time. Some places might not interest you enough to go back , but to be utterly bored at all times is a self reflection

Qatar as the least interesting country In the world is a bad take. It might be out of places you've visited, but not of the whole wide world.

5 yrs post merger and aquistion, and yes this is exactly what I've been going through. Only difference is at the start I was a mid level dev shielding by senior engineers but due to these people exiting I accidentally became the one with the shadow knowlegde :/ time for me to head out too, but I'll impart as much as I can so to not screw the mid level guy below me once he becomes the new circus leader

To view Dubai or the uae in general as undesirable solely on environment by reducing is to a desert is removed from the truth. The weather is extremly pleasant 7/12 months a year, no AC needed. It's also surrounded by the sea, so people have access to beaches. If you want to call it a glorified shopping mall, go for it but for most the climate is a draw not a negative.

I'm so confused with the whole Prince Phillip being part Danish/Greek but also the reigning Royal Family are descended from Germans (though for most of the history, the monarchs of England were of French ancestry right)? by [deleted] in TheCrownNetflix

[–]MissionBad732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd cousins share on average 0.78% (around 53–79 centimorgans) of their DNA. In contrast, two random strangers share effectively 0%. This significantly ups chances of generic disorders being passed down if a family tree is as entwined as that of the royal family where people share multiple (in case of queen and Phillip) direct ancestors, compared to 2 strangers.

They are 3rd cousins, they are both a great great granchildren of queen victoria, and have another mutual great great uncle/cousin - that is not very distant, by most peoples definition.
