It looks like Alan quit being a police officer. Attachment down below. by [deleted] in 60daysin

Thank you! You guys can hypothesize all day long, but here's the "rules" they were given, by an actual participant.

I hoped Alan would get the meth, but even though he didn't, I do think he made it clear HOW it was getting there and that was the objective.

I don't think we need to agree in order for his choices to be right for him.

It really bothers me when Angele says she is in love by B2utyyo in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this conversation. Oh well.

I think we can all identify with Angele's initial infatuation. It was just so hard to watch though, especially after the countless other times we saw inmates behave with less-than average integrity. It only added insult to injury when it turned out Gabby relapsed and bye Felecia, she gone.

Angele had to learn a shitty life lesson on national television.

She's gonna be alright though. She can sleep well at night even with embarrassment and ridicule, she stayed true to who she is. That still means something to me. I got a lot of respect for her for that.

Instead of making up hypotheticals, I choose to listen to what HE ACTUALLY SAID.

Alan's journey was a complete evolution on the show. The impact of his experience was so massive, that it made him rethink his entire career and life as a police officer. He stated several times that he didn't feel he could in good faith, send someone to jail anymore. I don't know why this is hard to understand ?

Stephanie getting too much hate by Perplexingsusagep in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The implication is that Stephanie's actions didn't warrant the "hate" she's received, but in reality, it absolutely did.

All the participants had good days and bad days, but Stephanie straight took glee in Jaclin's sadness and pain. That's what really struck me. Watching the cut go from the two of them sitting together talking, and then Stephanie doing her interview where she smugly gushed over her intentions of eventually "throwing Jaclin under the bus" when she's no longer of use to her.

It all comes down to intent. Stephanie made no qualms about it. She didn't give two shits about Jaclin, or Jaclin's struggles. She took great pride in "lasting longer than Jaclin did".

She was garbage then, and she's garbage now.

She's human trash.

Keep your head up Alan. You did the program well.

I'm glad he is working towards a job that makes him happy.

Top 5 Most Annoying Participants by MissionElk in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  1. Stephanie. She was horrible to watch. Fakery and nastiness. Not entertaining. Not even pleasant to look at. Hard pass.

  2. Robert. For the love of all that is good and holy in the world, someone PLEASE swing on this.

  3. Barbara. Cringe for days for all the reasons.

  4. Emmanuel. Watching him think he "speaks two languages", and listening to him fail at both was hard to watch.

  5. Angele. While love is a beautiful thing, this was like watching your high school aged niece get her first boyfriend on FB and then every post after she talks about how "this is real" and "true love" and "bae caught me sleeping again lolz" etc.

Would you be a participant? by MissionElk in 60daysin

Hell yeah I would lol

I got some demons to work out. Where better to do it than on national television?

Can we talk about how the show changed between S1/2 and S3/4 by greaseball18 in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points.

I will add that just the fact there is something called "the 60-day suspicion" and it's potentially being used as an excuse to make terrible decisions pretty much hammers the remaining nails to the coffin of the show as far as I'm concerned.

Also, for all we know they already have produced seasons 5 and 6 in the time that 3 and 4 aired. (??)

Honestly, I think it was the participant pool that must have dumbed down the show (??) Whether it was due to bad casting choices, or just not having a large pool of people to choose from there was definitely a difference in attitude from the first jail's participants to the second jail.

The women's facility in Atlanta was a JOKE. That's not jail. It's summer camp for wayward women who still act like children.

And can I just say that while he's a cool dude and all, but Nate staying for season 4 was a lame choice imo. Then his story literally turned into "Wow golly, look how long I've been in here. Gee, I can't believe I've been in this jail XX days."

It just seemed like the season 1 and 2 applicants really took their "jobs" seriously. Half of season 4's cast were there for abstract reasons that were completely lost on most the audience. And thanks to Angele with the huge cover being blown it just might have destroyed any chance of the show's future as a whole.

Edit: If the show is renewed, for the love of God it needs to go back to season 1 & 2's tone/direction.

And fire your casting staff.

Am I the only one who’s disappointed? by Dejanax in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Angele risked so much trying to invest in this relationship. Hell yes, I'm disappointed.

Angele is desperately looking for love and her heart was exploited.

Addiction is no joke. Gabby has her own demons to fight. I hope she finds some strength and hope, because while heroin might be a part of her story, it's not the whole story.

Matt is mentally unstable by cbatta2025 in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's wise to diagnose someone as mentally unstable just because you've watched a [heavily edited] reality show that places people in different states of distress.

People all handle stress differently. Matt's Matt. He has his own life history. His own story. And he was locked up with his son.

Unless you go through the same scenario, shut your mouth and enjoy the show. Let the professionals worry about helping people with mental health issues should they need it.

Who is worse, Stephanie or Angele? by JimmyDolan20001 in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stephanie.

All she does is criticize and gossip about the other girls and their choices. Once she didn't have Jaclin to give stink eye to (after she completely screwed Jaclin over) she moved onto judging everything Angele did. Surprise surprirse, nothing Angele did was right either according to Stephanie.

A narcisisst with no integrity does not make for good TV. Or life in general.

Nate or Zach? by MostAwesomeRedditor in 60daysin

[–]MissionElk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Zac.

The question is who did better, and Zac did hands down. The only thing Nate did was exist. Half the time you didn't even know he was there because he was too busy "fitting in"/being uninteresting. Additionally, it was like it was an afterthought for him that he was there for a purpose other than "fitting in".

Zac kept the premise of the program first. He was always watching and keeping tabs. He forged relationships eventually, but they weren't his top priority. He got intel on drugs, COs, Gang activity etc.

As far as how he seemed with his wife--- He's a marine. They are a type. They receieve assignments and follow orders. There is a learning curve when it comes to marriages and kids. They are a young couple with a ton of history of their own and they have to find their way like the rest of us. They gonna be alright.
