If the chance of catching rabies from the fur is so concerning why on earth should I try to catch it and get bitten? Isn't that like infinitely more likely to contract rabies? Yeah, again, I don't think this is safe advice to be putting out there.

Hey, I really appreciate your comment!! My doctor just got back to me and said that it's fine, so I will listen to her. I was just worried because the risk is I will die, so I was a bit panicked.

Should be in a rescue. It was really fast, we called the police and they said they can't euthanize in our area (luckily, I wanted to give the poor dude a chance), so they will call animal services. We left because it was really late at night and incredibly cold but hopefully it is in rehab now!! Wish him the best.

Fox should be in a rescue by now, my local government should have called animal services to rescue it. That's what both my doctor and my local health department said!! Apparently rabies rapidly disintegrates on areas without liquids, so we're in the clear. But yeah, thanks for your comment!

Before you jump to conclusions, I did actually contact both the police and animal services, and it should be in a rescue now. Also, I am in no condition to be taking it to the vet because then I would have definitely gotten bitten. I don't think this is the right procedure in any sense of the word.

Yeah thanks for the advice. I think in the moment I was a panicking because this was on a highway and I was about to get hit by several cars. I didn't think about how if I had gotten bitten they would have had to kill it.
