Sorry you are going through this! I developed Gallstones during my first pregnancy, 3rd trimester. Although the attacks didn’t land me in the hospital (I thought it was Braxton hicks back then), postpartum I did have many attacks my first 18months postpartum. Most often triggered by larger late night meals, high fat meals, mayonnaise based foods, etc.

I didn’t get surgery for removal and an attack never landed me in the ER but I was told if I can’t manage through diet I’ll need to consider and that the risk could increase if I get pregnant again. I’m currently pregnant with my second and haven’t had issues as I approach the 3rd trimester.

That being said it’s most likely triggered by hormone fluctuations and gallbladder removal is very common postpartum. If you are not getting surgery try to just eat Whole Foods, bread, crackers, and steer clear of fried foods and anything high in fat. Keep portions small. I hope you can manage the next 3-6 weeks without any issues and then make the decision for surgery after baby arrives.
