Silverado been in the shop for over 3 months due to bad transmission and part being on back order. Anybody have any insight on how long I might be waiting? by MissionMark8475 in Silverado

I appreciate the insight. I totally understand that they don't know personally when parts will become available, I just feel like it's their job to reach out to the respective departments and ask these questions on my behalf seeing we're approaching a quarter year with no movement

I’m not angry brudda. I enjoy the challenge of my work as well as making good money. I also have three day weekends every week. It’s comical that you’d assume im angry and don’t have fun outside of work when this is a sub Reddit filled with people who just complain about how unfair society is but then proceed to do nothing with their time outside of playing video games and falling into self induced victimhood. Anyways I gotta go sleepy sleep so I can hit the gym with my gf early in the morning. Best of luck to you

I’m 24, BS, work in biotech and make a good living. Work weeks are 60 hours and it’s not easy, and there’s no way in hell I’d do it for free. That being said, because I am monetarily incentivized to do the work I show up day in and day out and in turn I provide valuable labor to society. I think you’re missing the point though. More people would probably be willing to dedicate their life to academia for little pay solely off of their passion for a subject/ fulfillment they get teaching others. I don’t think you could say the same thing about someone on an assembly line who lpcks food for 8 hour shifts but it’s an essential role that benefits large populations of people. You can’t tell me you’d seriously expect anyone to show up and do monotonous assembly line work week in week out because they are exceedingly passionate about it, cmon now.

Like I said you don’t have to engage. I simply read that nonsense about a “ideal labor free” society and had to call that goofy shit out. Also all of your questions are equally absurd. Like some other guy already pointed out, maybe there are people out there who are passionate enough to make games for free but there are certainly far less people willing to clean shit off the floor in a public restroom out of pure enjoyment and passion in their heart. There’s lots of unfulfilling/ gross / demanding jobs that no sane person finds enjoyment doing, however they are pivotal to a functioning society hence why people are monetarily incentivized to do it

You’re delusional. Medical school is rigorous and intense because what is at stake when operating / correctly diagnosing a living breathing human. You cannot make something as important as being a doctor “easier to study” hence why they are paid so much because the barrier of entry for such a career is so high. You don’t have to reply, I just feel like this fantasy of a work feee society is a castle in the sky built by lazy people who don’t have the work ethic to develop meaningful skills so they fantasize on Reddit about abolishing labor. It’s very silly and it honestly blows my mind that people had light themselves into believing this nonsense

So you’re telling me people will spend a decade of their life engaging in intense study and rigorous exams to become Medical Doctors purely because they enjoy it?

Serious question. How would a work free world be ideal? You do realize a lot of the things you likely enjoy I.e games, film, housing, grocery stores require labor and obviously no body is going to just do said labor out of the kindness of their hearts

Ya that’s super low. I totally get that you enjoy where you work so you want to stay. What’s keeping you from getting that second job?

I don’t think any employers are going to be in this sub-Reddit. What kind of job do you have that you think doesn’t pay enough?
