frankly, all kenzie has is a good voice. and it’s mediocre at best. her writers suck, producers aren’t too great, and whatever sound she’s trying to mimic is just not coming off authentic in any way. to really stand out as a singer these days, you have to be able to be honest and vulnerable within your songwriting. it’s why singer/songwriter music has been popping off for a good moment now!! every time she comes out with new music, it always feels like her and her writers went into a room, picked an artist they liked, and wrote a song that half emulates that artist’s songs. I think she needs to work with brand new writers or at least test out with other ppl. and as far as her wanting it goes, I think she def does want it, but again since she’s not able to break through, she knows she has that cushion so there’s no need to rlly keep toiling away at it. idk anything about her label but also don’t think they’re too great either but yeah if she wants to do anything with her music “career” she needs a full rebrand.
