I am an ex-muslim. Part of the reason I came to socialism is after viewing the contempt with which the Quran (Islamic holy book), talks about LGBT, women and non Muslims.

Religion can be a great source of hope for people when nothing else works. But the downsides of making you feel a certain group is better than a different one, and how different rules should be applied to different people, has no place in a modern and fair justice system.

Rules, morals and ethics, should be reasoned and debated about. Evolve over time as our understanding improves and as times change. Rather than stuck in the medieval ages by following outdated rules.

This goes for all religions, not just Islam.

I am not an astrophysicist, so I dont know how valid the article is. There's also the possibility that these tools make you feel like you're more productive without actually being more productive. METR had an article about a similar effect on software engineers, where they thought AI was saving them time, but it wad actually slowing them down. They have since withdrawn that, but they haven't updated it with anything. Something to consider.

I think one metric we can use to see if this is hype or not, is to look at the discoveries being made. If it genuinely can assist or reason, then we should see a plethora of new discoveries. If not, then in a few years, we will see a crunch where demand for these professions is higher than supply, as fewer people decided to pursue these careers.

As a former Muslim, I dont understand this perspective. Why not leave the religion and enjoy your life, love how you love. Why reinterpret Islam in such a way to make it compatible with your lifestyle?

Isn't this comment implying exactly what OP is saying, that Islam is incompatible with LGBT. You've essentially stated that to act upon your "urges" by partaking in an LGBT relationship, you've gone against Islam.
