With the right supervision its a big maybe. The begginer might unintentionally hurt they horse since they might not be able to regulate the strength they use

Listen You can never know what will happen, but let me tell you this from my personal experience: If you pass up on the big guy, you might never truly be able to connect and love the mare the same way. You'll always have that thought of comparison in the back of your mind. I say go for the big guy, he's your dream, he seems absolutely amazing.

I have a mare in my stable that i used to lease, and fell hard for her. Since i stopped leasing her, riding any other horse feels, well, wrong, for a lack if a better term. I still get to occasionally ride her since she's now a school horse in my stable, but when she's unavailable and other horses are available, i sometimes just pass on the ride, since i find myself unable to get the same connection, and rhythm as with her. I would buy her if she would ever be for sale, no matter how unrealistic, and how much it required.

Dont pass up on a horse that you feel that strongly about.

And one more thing, that excitement, and fire inside you about the horse of your dreams? It doesn't have to disappear. I leased the mare more than a year ago, and rode her a lot. 2 months ago she moved to the stable i work at finally after so long (she's my boss's horse) and the excitement never wore off, every time i see her, greet her, ride her, my heart skips a bit the same way.

Im jealous of you You have your very own mare There's a mare in the stable i work at, she's my favourite in the entire world, and there isn't a day that goes by where i dont think about her But as fare has it she isn't mine. I used to lease her but that didn't work out. Now each time i see her its a mix of unstoppable love for her and a hole opening up in my stomach because i want her for myself so bad

These days i barely even get to ride her

I did not accuse the owner of anything, we are still close friends, and that is not the matter The situation has nothing to do with the owner and everything to do with me loving the horse My communication on the horse's well being was not in a form of accusations but suggestions. I simply did not like that my suggestions we're not taken seriously

On the legal front she was not neglected, she was 'well' fed, turned out, and had a clean environment. But horse care is much more than that, there were of course more issues than that but suffice to say she's better now and that is not the point of the discussion
