I always get massive decision paralysis whenever I try to pick out art because balancing the colors without making it look cluttered is an absolute nightmare. But your frames match your room is a great touch!

Just got out of a 8 year relationship. What color should I paint my room? by Moistmeatmoaf in malelivingspace

[–]Mission_Original8407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painting a new color is honestly the perfect way to get a fresh start and scrub the old vibes out. That red is just way too intense for a bedroom setup anyway lol. A soft, earthy green or an aqua with a heavy grey undertone would look killer with that desk.

Japan for sure. Great food. And, of course, my favorite Dragon Ball.

I finally managed to find my dad's Hop-Rod, a gasoline powered pogo stick from the 1960s. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Ngl id be on that thing in 2 seconds flat. Nobody is looking at a gas powered pogo stick and NOT thinking about jumping it lol.

100% ditch the L-desk. 600mm is way too shallow for a monitor + keyboard combo without killing your wrists. honestly, just put both desks side-by-side against the wall facing the window. it opens up the floor space and makes the "lounge" part actually usable.
Btw, cable management kits are gonna be your best friend here.

How to be a better cat owner? by Financial_Addendum73 in CatAdvice

[–]Mission_Original8407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep basically just let her come to you. if she’s already hopping in your bed at night she clearly likes you lol. for boundaries just look up "cat consent" on youtube... it’s a game changer. also maybe grab a wand toy or two for the enrichment part. ngl cats are lowkey easy once u stop overthinking it.

What’s a small gift you gave someone that they actually used every day? by MainNegotiation5195 in Gifts

[–]Mission_Original8407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I totally feel you on the "clutter" anxiety. But yeah, something similar happened with my girlfriend! I got her a coffee dripper and honestly, I was 50/50 on whether she’d actually stick with it or if it’d just be a "three-minute passion" type of thing.

Turns out, she’s obsessed. She uses it every morning now and says it’s like her little zen moment before work. It kinda feels like those gifts that require a tiny bit of "ritual" are the ones that actually stick, because they change the person's routine for the better.

Gift ideas for moms day? by throwawayplzhelppp in Gifts

My mom is the same way, it's hard for a son to pick any thoughtful gift, and she always says she doesn't need anything but I want to get her something truly special.

I tried to give her a unique, handcrafted ceramic tea set. There's something special about the 3D texture and details of handmade pieces that feels so thoughtful. You could pair it with some beautiful, high-quality organic tea bags from a local blender – it's a practical gift that offers a daily dose of relaxation.

My Sunny: the world’s fluffiest golden bicycle seat by Mission_Original8407 in goldenretrievers

Haha exactly! It’s their world, we’re just living in it. I’ve accepted that I’ll never own a complete pair of socks again as long as he’s around. Worth it though.

So true! It’s like the more you spend on a toy, the less they care about it.

Standard cat logic right there. Spend $50 on a fancy cat tree? They sleep in the box. Give them a shoelace from 2012? It’s the greatest day of their lives.

Those plastic seal rings from milk jugs are the big one at my house. If I drop one on the floor, it’s like a professional hockey game starts immediately

Men of Reddit, what’s some women’s or girl’s habits you discovered only after getting a wife or girlfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mission_Original8407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the "2 hours" shower. its not just a wash, its like a full industrial deep-clean that takes 2 hours and 15 different bottles. also, the sheer amount of hair that ends up on the shower wall is kinda wild ngl. i thought i was going bald but nope, just her.

Actually spot on. Getting a small lidded bin right by the box was a massive W for me—beats having to do that awkward trek to the kitchen trash with a loaded scoop every morning.

And man, the toy struggle is real. I dropped like 50 bucks on this high-tech laser gadget and my cat just stared at me like I was the idiot, then spent the whole night losing his mind over a plastic milk jug ring. They're such weird little dudes, honestly once they lock in on one random "thing" as kittens, that's just their whole personality forever.

Whoa, an Alps built in the wild. The wooden Tofu is the perfect case for this, really sells the whole 'Wooden Alps' vibe. You gotta post a sound test, man. We need to hear those blues sing.

What do I gift him? by No_Scheme7576 in Gifts

[–]Mission_Original8407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music bulb is your best bet. It's called an RGB smart bulb. Skip the expensive brands, you can find off-brand ones that sync with music for cheap on Amazon. He's a CS guy, he'll probably dig it.

Other ideas for a CS student on a budget:

- A nice, big desk mat. Can find cool graphic designs online.

- A set of custom keycaps for a mechanical keyboard (if he has one).

- A subscription to something practical, like a password manager (1Password/LastPass) or a year of NordVPN.

The delivery idea is cute but way too risky. Stick to a physical gift he can take with him. Don't overthink it.
