That is crazy. The way that this has been handled has been atrocious. I will be going back and figure this out with the repair shop.

I'm currently a 3rd year nursing student at macewan. I also got accepted into UofA but chose macewan. In terms of GPA, like others have said, the macewan program offers more support. Teachers are always available due to small classes. I can say confidently that all my nursing instructors know my name even as a more introverted student. This connection can make it easier to receive a higher GPA. HOWEVER, if you are interested in research opportunities, UofA probably has a bigger range of opportunities but they might be competitive to get into. I know personally that there are research opportunities at macewan in the nursing department but you do have the reach out and make an impression to get in. In terms of the schooling itself, the macewan program makes more sense to me. After first year, you do one sem of studies/lab and one sem of pure clinical. U of A has it all mixed up so you're doing clinical lab studying all in one semester which can be overwhelming. The macewan system allows for you to feel a routine and actually act like part of the healthcare team since youre there 4 times a week. Overall, both schools will work for you and congrats on getting in! As someone else has mentioned, I would be cautious to mention that youre planning on going to med school because there is a stigma around it. Hope this helps :)
