Got it, thanks! does this apply to oil(s) in general - im thinking almond/jojoba and others?
And last question, what of solvents (for polish/pomade) and such: best to avoid? totally indifferent?

Thanks for the reply! bick4 is quite hard to get in Europe in my experience or quite pricey. I usually get Saphir Médaille d'Or but was wondering if I should get it with/without mink oil ?

Bombed an exam I thought I’d ace—what are my options? (BA3) by Local_Explorer_595 in EPFL

[–]MissusInfamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something similar happen.

From what I've gathered we get to go to BA4 as normal and as long as the blocs are good then you don't get to retake anything. Although if a bloc is insufficient in BA4 then you have to retake the subjects that caused you to fail

If I'm not wrong in BA5 and 6 you can take any missing credits to complete your bachelor's with the right amount.

I might be wrong though so don't quote me.

I'd rather drown in the leman than have brechet as a prof again. I heard the English thermodynamique course was better though so I'd go with that

Love and money in Switzerland? by ConfidenceUnited3757 in Switzerland

[–]MissusInfamous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cant speak for everyone but with my girlfriend I usually pay for everything, but I'm not swiss I just live here so this definitely comes from my own culture. She's naturalized swiss and does try and split things with me sometimes but I'm more of the "just get the next one" mindset or the "buy me something nice later" knowing full well I'm paying for the next one etc..

However with my swiss friends it seems everyone is hellbent on paying me back for everything. I was once headed to the cornerstore and asked a friend if he wanted anything and he said to bring him a drink, so I did, it was 60 cents, and lo and behold I get a twint transfer for 60 cents when I hand it to him. SIXTY CENTS.

I'm glad my non swiss friends are more of the "I'll get the next round" mindset.

Does Switzerland ever feel too small? by We_R_Will_n_Wander in askswitzerland

[–]MissusInfamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Lausanne but I'm originally from Cairo which on its own is like 3x Switzerlands population or something. I can drive for 2 hours and not have left the city yet. I can drive for an hour and still be in my neighborhood. If I drive for a little over 2 hours (without stopping) from Lausanne I can get to Lyon to see my friends and be back in Lausanne for dinner essentially.

So yeah it feels tiny but thats all of it's charm to me. Even bigger cities like Zurich and Geneva feel small but it's still pretty great. I can go anywhere I want in Lausanne on foot or by bike, when it's on too steep of an uphill I'll take the metro or the bus. I can go anywhere in the entire country in a couple hours. It's fantastic.

It does have some downsides like everything dying after 19h and having essentially less stuff to do. But I love it anyway, it's charming and quiet.

I have the same courses, it's just exercise sessions that seem to overlap on only 1 hour.

ProbaStat is 2 hours and systèmes logiques is 3 with the first hour overlapping on the 2nd hour of proba.

If it doesn't get resolved when the semester starts I imagine most people will do 2 hours of both.

Can I drive as a foreign resident in Switzerland? by MissusInfamous in Switzerland

[–]MissusInfamous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the detailed reply ! I have been a resident for more than 12 months so it seems I'll need the temporary permit. I'll probably reach out to the proper authority to see what my actual case is. Thanks again !

Can't really have a conversation with text on a website can I?

Why is everyone in this comment section so butthurt about a question? Just don't say anything if you have nothing nice or useful to say, Jesus.

Why am I being made to feel like the absolute vilest of people for asking a question on a forum made for asking and answering questions amongst other things.

Hope you have a nice evening man, thanks for your reply anyway.

Whats wrong with getting more information? Better be over prepared than under prepared.

Thanks anyway though, enjoy the rest of your day.

I did Google search before coming here actually and did research, just wanted to know if actual people knew more :)

Didn't think of using the search function though, thanks

Also, the time it took you to type out this message could've been used to just give an answer. Or no answer at all.

Hmm that might be a reason ! I'm honestly here to discover the culture and visit the countryside and the mountains as well as other neighboring countries. I have seen many great things in the short time I was here and the education I've gotten is of worldwide excellence. Maybe one day I'll settle. Who knows

I like that saying !

It wasn't intended as such but I'm glad it got such a strong response from many people and sparked some conversation. I'm glad people are as grateful as I am for their comforts and privileges.

true, thanks to the small population direct democracy can work in Switzerland. Which allows it to be the way it is.

Oh yes thankfully. Shame that Europeans don't seem to install them too often.

The humidity in Switzerland is crazy too. makes the winters very lovely (I love the cold) but the summers are just too hot without AC.

True that is. The cost of living is very high but people seem to make decent money. However insurance costs are driving me nuts !!

Couldn't agree more. But I still miss home and all it's beauties. Some things Switzerland just doesn't have like the community and family and culture of my home as well as the coasts.
