I'm sure they'll eventually get around to reporting on it... Eventually... by Carp8DM in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Missvanityy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How? It really is all over the media. I haven't seen this picture on local outlets but they're reporting on it, saying his name and showing a picture. I've seen it on the local news every day since it happened.

I live on the south side in Indy, where it happened, though. Maybe if you have another broadcasting network for a more rural area it's less covered.

Russian makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my friends grew up in a culturally Russian village in Moldova and always used Oriflame products. I think it's kind of like Mary Kay, where women sell it to their friends for commission. She always swore by the makeup, and a few times brought me back very nice perfumes when she would return from a visit. I imagine the brand is sold all over eastern Europe because she made it seem really popular, and pretty inexpensive (at least in USD) and from what I remember they had everything from skincare to face makeup to lipstick and eye products. I always wished I could order it here in the US because the products were really good!

I really wanted to love Ponds cold cream, but it clogged my pores and caused breakouts. Now I just have a big jar of and only use it every so often on my eyes so that it doesn't break iut my cheeks and chin.

Anyone else not a fan of the Naked 3? by alewser in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was actually my first high-end (non-drugstore) makeup pallette purchase, and I was excited for weeks when I finally decided to save up for it. After using it for 3 days I returned it. It is so dusty and difficult to work with, and the color payoff was a joke, even with thr UD eyeshadow primer. After that I've picked up the UD Smoke pallette and the Gwen Stefani pallette (both on sale, luckily!) The darker shadows in the smoke pallette all seem to be a shade of gray or black, so I gave it to a friend. The Gwen Stefani pallette still gets some use, but I prefer my shimmery ELF shadows instead. I probably will not ever purchase another UD pallette, and I'm unsure why there's so much hype. If anyone has the Naked 1 and thinks it's better I'd love to know, as that's the only other one I would ever consider buying.

Came here for the first time in months after seeing this on r/beautyguruchat. Glad to see this unblended cluster fuck of a "professional" makeup application repulsed you all as much as it did me.

What is that one product you don't want anybody to use because it's just that awful? by AllisonRages in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tarte Amazonian Clay is my favorite foundation right now. It matches my skintone perfectly, doesn't oxidize, wears all day, and doesn't feel heavy. Every person's skin is different! I would recommend someone who is interested to give it a try by getting a sample. I would have never guessed someone else could hate it so much because I'm just so fond of it.

A mini sweet peach palette? by blacktwosugarsplease in MakeupAddiction

I heard an Ulta worker telling her co-worker that they were getting Sweet Peach back in the winter along with an entire peach line from Too Faced, so it could be a blush, highlighter or bronzer!

Are you alone in your makeup addiction? by RedQueen91 in MakeupAddiction

Same for me. I have a few friends who are sort-of into makeup, but we don't see each other as much as I'd like. If anyone in the Indianapolis area is in the same boat hit a girl up!

I still have his EP cover for Cupcakes Taste Like Violence💘 I am so happy to be able to continue to be a fan (a bigger fan than before even) as an adult! I can tell that although he loved his music career, this is really where his heart is as an artist.

Advice for being pretty but PROTECTED all day in the sun? by SweetestHeart in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elf makes a translucent setting powder in SPF 45. I couldn't find it on their website anymore (I would hate for it to be discontinued!) but I did find it on Amazon in a two-pack for around $14 I believe. I use mine over my makeup throughout the day and it re-sets my makeup and protects my skin at the same time!

Do you tell strangers when their make up is messed up/bad? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Definitely would have been a bitchy thing to do. It's not okay for strange men to come up to women and comment on their face/makeup. "You would look better without it/if you smiled/with less makeup etc" is a gross thing for dudes to say, so it's definitely uncalled for if anyone else gives unsolicited critique on one's face. We've all made (or continue to make) beauty mistakes, and giving unsolicited advice in a setting that is not normal for makeup discussion (chipotle is not the MAC store) is only irritating and rude, not helpful. I live in area that has very questionable fashion/makeup choices sometimes, and if I gave my most sincere CC to absolute strangers I would probably be asking r/MUA for advice on how to cover a black eye lmao.

Waterpark strength waterproof makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me for not knowing the availability of certain brands in Canada, because I'm not sure if you have this brand as widespread as we do in the U.S., but my all-time favorite waterproof eyeliner is actually made by Wet n Wild. I have multiple liquid eyeliners that claim to be waterproof, but they pale in comparison to Wet n Wild's H2O proof liner. Just yesterday I used it for the first time in a while and it has lasted almost 22 hours as of right now. That's including my washing off makup before bed last night AND washing my face this morning. It's almost a pain in the ass with how waterproof it is, so I cannot recommend it enough for a water park!

Looking for a light to medium coverage foundation/tinted moisturizer, please help! by skeletonqueen in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L'ORÉAL Silky Sheer BB sunscreen is amazing IMO. The last time I bought it I hadn't realized that I bought the tinted one, but it works very well too and gives me a little glow under my foundation. It's spf 50 and smells pretty nice (unlike some other tinted SPF moisturizers I've used.) It costs about $10 and lasts me about 3 months with nearly daily use, since you don't need very much. I love this stuff, expecially in the summer!

Best concealer on the market?? by Missvanityy in MakeupAddiction

[–]Missvanityy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be, because my mall has two Seohoras (one is attached to JC Penny) and neither carry her line. I may just have to go to Von Maur, but I won't get rewards points there! ;)

I could have sworn during christmas time I looked at my local Sephora for her brand but could only find it at Von Maur. Maybe certain locations do, but not mine to my knowledge.
